With nearly 50 years in the appliance industry, I've seen it all. I am tired of top brands living off their name and now starting to produce shoddy products.
I've made many videos and even a playlist about built-in obsolescence. These videos have millions of views and keep growing. What's really surprising is that manufacturers aren't disputing the information.
Manufacturers need to improve their brand names by producing quality again, I'm here to share my knowledge, help you repair what you own, and fight for a more sustainable future.
We make videos on domestic appliance repairs (Cookers, Washing Machines, Tumble Dryers, Ovens, Hobs, Fridges & Freezers etc.) fixing the vast array of kitchen appliance.
We have a website that is designed to help you repair your appliance yourself, with the help of video and step by step instructions on the procedure. All this and more for FREE!!
Please use the CONTACT US PAGE if you need help and I will reply as soon as I can.

Even when washing machines are made by hand by people in third world countries, they are more serviceable than the ones we have today. Yes, the quality is poor, cheap plastic, cheap components. But I imagine they will still last longer if looked after than our modern Western society machines. Plus, they give local jobs to local communities.

AI copies a lot of content today, but I don't mind when it's spreading the word. Obsolescence has to stop.

The "fridge mountain" in Newport is a wake-up call. I wanted to show you what happens when our "throwaway culture" hits a dead end.
We’ve gone from appliances that served families for a quarter-century to machines that are essentially "landfill-ready" after 7 years.
I’ve heard from so many of you whose modern fridge-freezers haven't even made it to their 4th birthday. We’re being sold a lie that constant consumption is necessary for the economy, but we’re paying for it with our wallets and our environment.
I want to hear from you: How old was your last fridge when it gave up the ghost? Are we really okay with "7 years" being the new normal?

🚐☀️ Greetings from sunny Portugal!
I’ve finally finished the massive modifications to the van, including a 5.5-meter external workbench (wait until you see what I used for the legs... 😂) and a whopping 1,600W solar system.
I'm now running a full-size fridge-freezer, my air fryer and Starlink without any problems. The video will be out soon and believe me, you won't want to miss these budget-friendly camper solutions.
Quick question for you: If you had 1,600W of solar on your roof, what's the first appliance you'd plug in? Let me know below! 👇

We need more people like these to start looking into the built-in obsolescence side, so many scripts could be written to stop a machine functioning after a certain amount of washes a little bit above my pay scale. but a very interesting debate about how they build the software also A very protective response on the subject of obsolescence 49:31

I took a risk going to the Newport docks today, and I was nearly arrested for it. But the public needs to see what is happening at this site, originally owned by Sims Metal.
The yard in this image is now stockpiled with thousands upon thousands of fridge freezers. Following the acquisition of the site by Unimetals, and that company's subsequent bankruptcy and loss of 650 jobs, these units are simply accumulating with no avenue for disposal.
This stockpile is the physical evidence of built-in obsolescence. The UK is scrapping millions fridges a year—many under five years old. The introduction of modern NTC sensors and auto defrost systems is causing these appliances to fail prematurely due to inherent unreliability and over-complexity.
I am reaching out to the press and advocates like Louis Rossmann to expose this.
Full investigation video coming soon.

I would love to thank the whole community that have supported me for nearly 20 years on YouTube. from making simple repair videos and also some very controversial videos about the way the Appliance industry has changed but you have managed to get me to 200,000 subscribers today. Thank you all for your support. It is really appreciated. I’m sorry I’m not doing a video today on this as I’m seriously stuffed up with a cold.
