3+ years later... How's your trading journey going?

If you're still here or new here, you're always welcome. There's never a rush, progress at your own pace towards consistency. My goal isn't to keep you watching forever, it's to help you become self-sufficient so one day you won't need me anymore.

Got a few messages on how I calculate position sizes and if I use an EA. Here's my quick hot take on EA's vs Manual position sizing:

Manually calculating position sizes based on risk requires by nature a degree of PREPARATION. This process REQUIRES me to have pre-determined everything, so I can not simply enter on an impulsive idea with an unprepared position size. I always have my entry, my stop, my position size all planned as best I can much before price even reaches that entry point.

Using an EA, having it all automated, I'd imagine would entice a MORE impulsive decision making style, which is something I actively avoid and would advise you to avoid as well. (Avoid impulse, not EA's) 💢

Obviously, depending on you as the trader, if disciplined, you'll eliminate any impulsive decision making and continue to trade with preparation regardless of EA vs Manual sizing. I suppose I'm also just a creature of habit, attached to my very first calculator 😊

Side note, the shorter the time frame your trades, the more appropriate EA's will be due to less preparation time.
