If you’re looking for a channel that’s all about adventure without all of the cool gadgets and gismos, then you’ve come to the right place! Whether you’re into finding that next fishing spot that the crowds haven’t reached yet, overlanding, or DIY mods and maintenance to get you to that next that next fishing spot, you’ll find something to enjoy here. Join me as I explore the back country of the Ozarks and beyond, in search of new fishing spots and amazing scenery. Along the way, I’ll also introduce you to the history, culture, and people of this region, and show you why it’s more than what you think. I’ll share my passion for fishing and overlanding, or truck camping as some call it, and inspire you to get out there and see the world. So subscribe now and let’s go on an adventure together! 🎣🚙🏕️
Overland to Water
Hey everyone,
If you’re still following my channel after my summer hiatus — thank you. Your support means more than you know, and I want to take a moment to share what’s been going on, why things have been quiet, and where I hope to take things next.
Over the past year, my channel has slowly shifted into something I never intended it to be. It became a gear and install channel — and while I do enjoy working on my rig and sharing those projects, creating content just for the sake of staying active isn’t sustainable. I don’t have the income or sponsorships to keep up with constant installs and modifications.
More importantly, that was never the heart of Overland to Water.
If you go back to the very first paragraph of my build thread on Expedition Portal, you’ll see the real reason I started this journey:
“I was needing something to get me to and from my fishing spots.”
Fishing was my first true hobby. It’s what inspired the build, the channel name, and the adventures I wanted to share. But somewhere along the way, I drifted from that passion. I got caught up in the off-road and gear world — and while I do enjoy those aspects, they were never meant to be the focus.
The “To Water” part of Overland to Water has been neglected, and I want to change that.
My original goal was to explore backwoods and backcountry areas with little fishing pressure — especially here in Missouri, where those spots are hard to find. Through my off-road trips, I’ve discovered a few hidden gems I’d love to revisit just to fish. That’s the kind of content I want to lean into.
Over the next couple of months, I’ll be figuring out the future direction of the channel. I do have a few products I want to review and install, and yes — the bus build is still happening, and I’ll be documenting that journey when the time comes.
But more importantly — I want to hear from you.

Sorry for the lack of videos, I have a couple in the works. I picked up a new camera and I am having trouble with editing the new camera footage. I believe I have gotten it figured out now. The next video will be a camp and trail ride with the @Show Me State Overland group in below freezing temps and snow.

Looking to ditch the G80 in my 9.5 and also add a locker to my D44. Which would you go with? Please tell me why you chose your option in the comments.

No new content this week due to Life..... I haven been thinking about started another channel dedicated one of my other hobbies because I don't want this channel to become a hodge podge of my ideas. I just don't think I would ever have enough content with it to keep up another channel. Would building one or two aquariums on this channel deter from what is going on now? It is still kind of fabrication but not automotive.
