An idiot, a board.

Follow the buffoonish misadventures of a complete numbnut as he tries to organise (build) his workshop and attempt to fix stuff around the house...without a clue as to what he is actually doing. Hilarity ensues...no, maybe that's not the right word...disaster...yeah, disaster, that's the one...Disaster ensues...usually.

I was about to start filling the shelves I have been building (not finished, but there is room for a few boxes) when I got dripped on from above. The dishwasher drain had slipped from and caused a minor leak. Move the fridge/freezer out of the way, pull out the dishwasher, trace the leak. Clean up, mop, dry the area, double check for other leaks (they can be sneaky buggers), silicone around the drain connector (just to be sure), and clean up some more. I didn't film any of it as I had no idea what the cause was,
I had to take down some of the ceiling I had put up last year in the store room, that'll need replacing as plasterboard/sheetrock/gyprock doesn't do well when you add water to it.
Aaaaanyhoo, now I will wait for the silicone to dry before testing the dishwasher for any more leaks before putting everything back where it was.

Apologies for not posting any co tent for the last couple of weeks, but we had to prep one of our kiddies to leave us to join his new family with his older sister, so I haven't been in the shop at all. It is a bittersweet moment when they leave as we grow so attached to them, yet it is wonderful to see them settle with their 'forever family'.
New content should be filmed in the next few days.

Holy crappoli, I have 100 subscribers. 100 peeps who have taken the time to follow my silly adventures in a tiny room in my basement. Thank you all so much, all of you. I would have been chuffed with 20, so to hit 100 is, though small by YouTube standards, fantastic for me. You are all muchly appreciated.

Cheers all, oh, and if you haven't subscribed yet, WHY NOT? 😏😉😁😂

An idiot, a board.

Found a couple of old video camera stands, one full size, one travel size, and 'converted' them for use with the camera on my old phone, and my new one. So with a bit of luck I can start getting up close or multi-angle shots! Oooohhhhhh, who's getting cocky now?
😉🤣

An idiot, a board.

Hello peeps,
Sadly, no video to upload this week. I haven't had any time to get into the workshop and do anything of any note, other than a bit of a sweep up. Mrs B and I have been too busy with the foster kiddies, including a new arrival a few days ago. She is a 2 week old bairn who was born 3 weeks early, so technically, I guess, she is -1 week old! 😂
Normal service (if anything I do could be considered normal) will resume shortly.
Cheers all.
Your Idiot,
Danny.

The barbecue at my camper is surprised to discover how much I charge for the good ol' scrubbing he sorely needs.

An idiot, a board.

Hello everyone,
So you may have noticed that my videos are released at very inconsistent intervals, so I thought I'd fill you in as to why.
Mrs B and I are a short-term foster family, which means we take in kiddies from 0 to 5 years old on a 'short-term' basis, which can be anything from a couple of days to a year, sometimes a tad longer, and we have 3 spots open, two for up to 5 yr olds and one for 0 to 6 month olds.
This means that more often than not, our time is not our own due to various appointments that we have throughout the week. I try and film my stuff when the kids are at daycare, for those that are in one, or on visits with their parents, due to the noise I make if nothing else, and when one of those visits is cancelled by a parent it means any time I have planned to film in is gone, taken off the board, which happened today with the 3 yr old lad we have.
There are other issues too, for example, our 4 month old foster baby, a wee lad, was in hospital for 4 days last week, so no filming then, for obvious reason.
It is a busy 'job' and our days are always packed to rafters with everything we get up to, which is why, when it comes to releasing videos, I am about as reliable as a chocolate teacup. Anyway, hopefully, I will have a couple of hours (max) tomorrow, and Thursday morning to get some stuff done. I am looking at making a sandpaper holder to go with the applicator I made...as long as no more appointments get cancelled that is.😁
So, hopefully, I will get something out by Thursday evening....(that's what she said😉😂).
See y'all later.
