2007, David Nugent made his England debut against Andorra. It was the 88th minute. England were 2-0 up. ๐Ÿ‘

Jermain Defoe's shot was rolling into the net.
lt was going in. No question. But Nugent wanted the glory.
He sprinted in and smashed it over the line himself. ๐Ÿ˜‰

His first England goal and as it turned out, his last. That tap-in became his only cap and only goal for the national team. He stole the moment and was never called up again. One of the pettiest and funniest international careers in football history. ๐Ÿคฏ

Former Chilean referee, Carlos Chandรญa, has shockingly revealed
that he once spared Lionel Messi a second yellow card in the 2007 Copa Amรฉrica semifinals in order to get his match-worn jersey at the end of the game. ๐Ÿคฏ

Had Messi been booked, he would've missed the final, in which Argentina consequently went on to lose 3-0 to Brazil. ๐Ÿ’€

Chandia believes his decision with Messi may have cost him the role of referring the final of the competition. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Kompany ๐Ÿ—ฃ: "l'd love to elaborate on the question. But it's a simple job. I love working with the players, I try to improve them, I try to improve the team, I try to improve myself. It's not really something I should answer.I could give you a deep answer, but it doesn't really deserve it. ๐Ÿ’ช

I'll tell you something in a quick way just to prove a point. I was born in Brussels, my dad was a refugee who came from Congo. What are my chances of even playing in the Premier League, winning something as a player, playing for the national team? The odds were 0.000 something. Now I'm a coach. Do you just stop believing in yourself and what you can achieve because of what other people say? โค๏ธ

The mentality is to keep going and in the end if you fail you fail, if you succeed you succeed. but you can always become better. Online you can always find stuff so really dont take it personal. What am I supposed to do? Stop because of what other people think? Let's encourage people to succeed and break barriers" ๐Ÿซก

Tonali speaking on his return after his ban: "I've led two lives. I was very closed and never spoke to anybody, not even in training, not even with the staff. ๐Ÿ‘€

Now I can be just one person. When I talk to the coach I'm Sandro, when I play I'm Sandro, when I go back home to ltaly I'm Sandro." ๐Ÿฅถ

Some figures in the Premier League do not believe one relegation to the Championship would be enough punishment to Man City if they were found guilty of most of their charges. ๐Ÿฅถ

If City were relegated, they'd likely be the favourites to get promoted right away. ๐Ÿ’€

One suggestion is to apply points deductions over several seasons to severely impact their chances of competing for titles. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Another option is to expel City from the Premier League, which would have massive consequences. โ˜ ๏ธ

In a match between Iran and Denmark in 2003, the Iranian players took a whistle from the crowd as the half-time whistle blown by the referee. A player subsequently picked up the ball in his hands inside his own penalty area. As a result, the referee pointed towards the penalty spot. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Before taking the penalty kick, Morten Wieghorst walked up to his coach Morten Olsen, who instructed him to deliberately miss the penalty. Wieghorst shot way wide of the right side of the Iranian goal. ๐Ÿซก

He was given a standing ovation by the crowd, and was applauded by the Iranian players. Denmark went on to lose that match 1-0 to Iran. Wieghorst received the Olympic Committee Fair Play award for this effort. โค๏ธ
