Currently editing Terrafarm in Farming Simulator 25 using map resources. There will layer, a pay dirt layer, and a bedrock layer. On this gold mining map the pay dirt deposits are only in certain places on the map, and just like in real life….you have to go find them…and nothing is flat. The layers fluctuate from 6 inches to 3ft deep for the over burden to hit pay dirt, and the pay layer is 1-6ft deep. Also editing other mods to suit this map and play style. Everything will be released as a pack when it’s finished.

Massive progress was made on the map today. Almost all of the foliage was placed on the map. I made some custom juniper tree assets for the hills out in the desert and got most of them placed as well. I’m trying to find the fine line between too many trees and not tanking fps. It is a 16x map after all.

I also made a custom vehicle breakdown mod and got it working in the game. Without giving too much away, if it can break or wear out in real life, it will happen in the game. Also, you better pop your hood and check your fluids when you start using equipment, or something bad might happen *cough cough* POPS.

I’d estimate that the map is probably about 35-40% complete, and who the hell knows with the breakdown mod, maybe 20-25% complete.

Both of these are going to need a TON of testing before they are released, but I promise you, they will be released….when they are ready.

I’ll take some screenshots tomorrow and post them along with an update.

Me and Pops are going to be playing sometime in the next few days. I’ll make sure to record pops when he sees the map for the first time and upload it before the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for an upload, you’re not going to want to miss the old man’s reaction to seeing where he grew up in a video game.

Since there are only about 30 people that live in the community where this map is based on, the chances of anyone knowing what the water tower hill is, are slim to none…..but the water tower is on the hill. All the geological features are finished and on the map and I have about 1/4 of the fields done. Pops childhood home is placed and I’m working on the yard. I still need to tighten up the ground textures and add the surrounding family farms/ buildings but I’m pretty happy with the progress so far. I had no idea how much went into making a map until I started this, and the amount of things I still don’t know, and the problems I will have that I don’t even know about yet are pretty daunting. I have a list of custom mods I need to build to support this series and hopefully I’ll be able to pull them off. My hat is off to all the Modder’s out there!
