I wanted to take a moment to share why I started creating these videos on the Care & Courage – Dementia Life Channel.
Caring for a loved one with dementia can feel overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes isolating. Every day is full of small victories, challenges, and moments that are heartbreaking, funny, or deeply moving.
Through these videos, I hope to show the real life of dementia care — the struggles, the love, the laughter, and the tears — using stories from my own family with Grandma May.
My main goal is simple:

So many people are quietly struggling, wondering:

This channel exists to say you are not alone.

In Part 2 of Grandma May’s Treasure Hunt, we finally discover what her “lost treasure” was. And it reminded me of something many caregivers slowly learn — the most valuable things are often not objects, but moments, emotions, and connection.
As caregivers, we’re so used to correcting, explaining, and fixing. But dementia teaches us a different lesson:
✨ Sometimes peace comes when we stop correcting reality and start validating feelings.
This video is a gentle reminder that even in confusion, there can be meaning. Even in memory loss, there can be joy. And even on hard days, there are still treasures waiting to be found.
