Did you know: Muhammad Ali (then named Cassius Clay) and his younger brother Rahman Ali (then Rudy Clay) were always curious and open minded. In fact he and his whole family were all devout Baptist’s who shared the same Christian faith and principles. Ali’s family would dress up in their finest clothes and attend Church every Sunday, well at least before the curiosity and wonder of the young Cassius and Rudy of Louisville, Kentucky began kicking in, which they both became more curious and began on a journey as truth seekers; they would wonder into the unknown subjects of their families heritage, black history, the origins of their “Clay” surname and discover the truths and understanding of Islam. Which in 1961 seen the young Cassius and Rudy not only decide to convert and follow the Islamic religion, but would see both siblings scrap their birth-names and adopt new Arabic one’s “Muhammad Ali” and “Rahman Ali” to further devout themselves.

The open-minded Muhammad Ali however knew just how important Christmas was to non-muslims and would make compromises for his Christian wife, family and friends. Ali was always wanting to bring happiness to all people regardless of their skin colour or creed, knowing what this festivity meant to people around the world would even take Ali to go as far as calling random strangers on Christmas Day and wish them a Merry Christmas and well wishes.
