Today is the 4th anniversary of our Lean FIRE ✨ Financial freedom in Bali has been the most glorious ride of our lives. Living lean may sound challenging, but these 4 years, we’ve only ever felt we were so wealthy in life, never that we were deprived or that we “gave up an awful lot” just to save money. Turns out, the life we truly wished to live actually costs very little.

What if, instead of thinking about what our life is, we think in terms of what our life is not?

As in, our wealth is all the useless purchases we didn’t make.

Happiness is all the things we don’t chase after.

Health is the illnesses & injuries we’ve dodged.

Peace of mind is all the unimportant tangles we didn’t engage in.

Hey y’all how’ve you all been 🫶🏼? Hard to believe, but tomorrow, 21st July 2025, officially marks our 4th year anniversary of our move to Bali and start of our lean F.I.R.E journey 🥳 The last few months I kept looking back on how far we have come and feeling so much amazement and gratitude for everything, it inspired me to stitch together a video of our awesome moments over the last 4 years set to my reflections about our lean F.I.R.E journey and our honest takeaways about financial freedom and what it means to live life well. I know it’s been a super long time since we’ve made any videos, and I believe my last update video 6 (!!) months ago was to share with you that we’re busy with 2 new projects (gosh how time flies!). So for those who took note, actually we ended up NOT leaving retirement to go back to a passion business! We have been and still are very much finnacially free, footloose & fancy, and to be honest I absolutely love living this way, I’m glad we didn’t exit it. We had a plan to, because V has a passion and I wanted to support him to actualise his dreams, but in the end we understood it was all going down the wrong path, so it was a wiser and better decision to give up that particular project. The other project has still been going on full steam though, and with 2 furkids and a bunch of health issues (dengue, aging etc.) it’s been super full on. Right, clearly we are due another life update video! But for now let’s just focus on what’s coming tomorrow. Our new video, Lean Fire in Bali: 4 years in 7 minutes, will be released tomorrow, 21 July 2025, at 5.30pm GMT+8. I hope you will enjoy it! It’s been such a while everyone!

Dear friends, sorry it’s been a while since you’ve heard from us! This year we’ve just been a whole lot more family focused and actually to be honest it’s felt really good dropping off the weekly schedule to really just make content that truly captures my genuine sentiments at the moment, although the downside is that I don’t get to keep in touch with a lot of you as often. Hopefully you’re enjoying my content this year as much as I am enjoying creating it. We are blessed to have this portal to document our beautiful life and share these moments & my reflections on them with you. Today’s video is a snapshot of our quiet happy moments the last few months in gorgeous Bali. Dear friends, 2024 has been a rather different year for us so far. We’ve embarked on a couple new projects, including becoming doggy parents to a new furkid, and also travelling again after a year or so of being very rooted and content in our little Bali home 😍. Life is great and feels very blessed. Thanks for being so patient with us. We’ve been in Shanghai, China for the last many days. It’s for us both our first real visit to China proper and boy, does it blow our minds 😍🤗👍🏼. It’s been an absolute blast, we’ve captured the best moments on our lens and we’ll stitch that together into a video for you soon, so stay tuned. Meantime here are some snapshots. It’s surprisingly, such a romantic city, with an exciting nightscape. And omg the food! After this we’ll need to graduate onto a blade of grass a day kinda diet to regain some balance 🤭. U guys take care, wherever you are, and we’ll chat again soon!

It’s been a long hiatus but I’m finally back with a new video on minimalism 😍. With no kids, at 40 & in Europe with my folks was when I felt like I was finally… adulting. Over a decade ago I left my family behind to pursue my visions of the life I dreamt of. It was a difficult choice, and sometimes one wonders if it was the right thing. But then life has its own complexities and its own timing. At least that was how it happened for me. Video diary sharing my honest thoughts about this plus some happy memories in Europe with my family out now. I hope you will tune in and that you will enjoy the video.
