African Plant Hunter

Africa is home to some of the world's most extraordinary people, landscapes, wildlife and plants. It's also a continent full of remarkable stories that deserve to be told.

I'm Gus Le Breton, the African Plant Hunter. For more than 30 years I've travelled across Africa as an ethnobotanist, conservation consultant and adventure traveller, working with local communities to explore the traditional knowledge, science and commercial potential of Africa's remarkable plants.

On this channel you'll find videos about African plants, traditional medicine, wildlife, conservation, self-drive travel and the people and places that make this continent so extraordinary. Whether we're exploring why the baobab is called the Tree of Life or planning an unforgettable road trip across Zimbabwe, my aim is to help you discover Africa with greater knowledge, confidence and respect.

I'd love to have you along for the journey as we dig deeper into what makes Africa so extraordinary and unique.

African Plant Hunter

Hey guys, I just want to thank all my supporters for getting me through the one thousand subscribers barrier. For someone who didn't know what social media was two years ago, that was a big deal for me! I think I've proved the concept, so now I'm quitting my day job and going full time. If you like what I do and can support me through Patreon, I would be VERY grateful! Here's the link: www.patreon.com/africanplanthunter.
