I make short videos about Civ VI where I try to explain each concept in the shortest amount of time possible.

Most memes I post on my community tab are OCs.

Civ 6 makes you think you can lead a country

Civ 5 makes you realize there's levels to this shit

Civ 4 makes you realize you very much cannot lead a country

And Civ 7 makes you realize the series fucking sucked all along

I think hanging up the hat on civ tutorials to go back to school and become a math teacher was the move. We just got our grades back for our calculus mid term. I got 90% and the class average was about 64%. Not only that, but everyone in my study group that I helped tutor got an above average score with 75%-85%. Like I'm actually built for this.

*CHANNEL UPDATE: I AM CURRENTLY ON HIATUS AND WILL REMAIN SO FOR SOME TIME!*

Some of you might have noticed the lack of uploads for a few months, as I have received comments saying I need to make more videos. One might assume I am just in the middle of a big project like usual, but the truth is, I am not. Shortly after my last upload in September, I started going back to school.

For those unaware, I got an associate's degree in multimedia from community college back in 2024 (Which is why my videos look the way they do), but what you might not know is that I could not find work outside of some inconsistent gig work for Firaxis, making a couple of Civ 6 and 7 TikTok videos. While this YouTube channel is a fun hobby that brings in a little pocket change for groceries, it is nowhere near enough to live on, and I have been working multiple part-time jobs to get by even today. While this is okay for now (being only 22), I do need to think ahead about my future.

Thankfully, making videos on this channel has helped me learn more about myself and who I am: someone good at breaking down concepts and explaining them thoroughly in a fun, digestible manner. After a year out of school, trying to figure it all out, I decided to go to University to major in mathematics and minor in education, with the goal of becoming a high school math teacher.

Now, you might look at this channel discussing Civilization games and ask why not a history or social studies teacher, and the reason is simple: supply and demand. The market for history teachers is extremely oversaturated! I am willing to bet that half the people watching this channel and their grandmothers think they could become history teachers. I was the same way when I discovered Alternate History Hub a decade ago. In fact, many of the people I have met in education classes want to be secondary history or social studies teachers!

I want something more likely to guarantee work, especially given that I already have a degree in an oversaturated field, multimedia. So, I went with my second choice of Math, both because I have always been good at it, and because there is an active shortage of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) teachers around the country. Especially Math, surprisingly!

While I spend the next 3 years on this (some credits from my time in multimedia did, in fact, shave off a year), I'll occasionally work on Civ videos, both 6 and even 7, which is now becoming playable and pretty fun. I might also start doing let's plays, as Civ has been a nice break from the workload I have been dealing with for the last several months. I'm still finding a balance between everything right now, as this is much more demanding than a community college multimedia degree.

I'm Ridic Acidic, and I'll see you in the next era!

Today I participated in Civ Give 2025 alongside Ursa Ryan, Daily Civ 7 News, and many others. For the event, we played Civ 7 for 12 hours straight, my first time playing the game since August, and I have to say... Civ 7 is getting good now.
