14 Years of “A Thousand Suns” On

September 14, 2010, Linkin Park released their fourth album, A Thousand Suns.

This concept album is about human fears, such as nuclear war. “The concept of this album is about people interacting with technology. People are afraid that something will happen to the world, but music will help them overcome it.” - said Mike Shinoda in an interview with MTV. The title of the album comes from the Hindu Sanskrit scripture Bhagavad Gita: “If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst in the sky, it would be like the splendor of the Almighty...” - a quote made famous by Robert Oppenheimer, creator of the atomic bomb.

Jamie has accused Mike Shinoda of betraying her trust and that of the group's fans in a series of harsh messages following Shinoda's comment that fans need time to accept Armstrong and warning that those who disqualify him would lose their respect.

“Hey Mike! People have no difficulty understanding Linkin Park reinventing themselves,” Jamie wrote on his Instagram stories . “The difficulty lies in how you hired your long-time friend @emilyarmstrong, knowing her history in the church and her relationship as an ally of @dannymasterson.”

“What you have done is not something that people have to get used to, it is not a shock that people have to process and understand. You have betrayed the trust placed in you for decades by fans and the human beings who support you, including myself. We trusted that you would be a better person. That you would be the change. Because you promised us that was your intention. Now you are senile and deaf. Crazy. By now I'd be willing to bet that all you LP guys know is disrespect. You didn't fool me!”

Bennington also accused Shinoda of attempting to erase his father's life and legacy, and of marginalizing and silencing anyone who held a divergent view from the group's official narrative, as well as lying about the timing of his contact with Armstrong.

Neither Shinoda nor Linkin Park have responded to the allegations at this time.
