Meet Saanvi Pramod Iyer, a 2nd PUC student of EPPyS from the Department of Humanities.

From music to the cricket field, her journey reflects curiosity, resilience, and determination. She began learning the guitar at the age of six and received a Merit Award from Trinity College London for completing her Level-3 graded examination in Rock & Pop.

Cricket, however, soon became her true passion. Starting at 11, she made a mark in the 2023 Karnataka State Cricket Association Women’s League (Open Category), emerging as one of the highest wicket-takers while competing against players across age groups.

Despite setbacks from injuries, her dedication and discipline helped her return stronger. A major milestone in her journey came when she was selected by the Mangaluru Dragons franchise for the first edition of the Maharani Trophy.

With dreams of performing consistently at the domestic level and one day representing the country, she continues to chase her goals with passion and perseverance. ✨

This Women’s Day, we celebrate young women like Saanvi who are breaking barriers, chasing their ambitions, and inspiring the next generation to dream bigger and aim higher.

From classical stages to classrooms, her journey reflects discipline, creativity, and balance. With over a decade of training in Bharatanatyam and four years in Kuchipudi, Poorvi recently completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram - marking years of dedication and perseverance.

Beyond performing, she has led dance teams, contributed to choreography, and mentored juniors under the guidance of her guru, Smt. Ushas S Nair. Her involvement in theatre, music, and sports further highlights her holistic growth.

Academically curious and thoughtful, she actively engages across the Social Sciences with clarity and critical thinking. With aspirations to pursue advanced classical training while nurturing an interest in culinary arts, Poorvi continues to grow with purpose and passion.

The 24-hour certificate course on Wildlife Photography & Film-making offered PU students a truly immersive learning experience — from mastering photography fundamentals and understanding wildlife conservation to exploring the Sharavathi Valley through guided day and night forest trails.

Under the guidance of Suhas Premkumar, students learned to view nature through a lens of responsibility, creativity, and coexistence. Certified by Myristica Ventures and the Karnataka Forest Department, the course added not just technical skills, but valuable perspective.

The college proudly marks its 6th batch, with 25 students and 2 faculty members exploring the beauty and biodiversity of the Western Ghats. 🌳✨
