Low-Dose Aspirin & Black Maternal Health 💊

Can a $4 bottle of baby aspirin save a Black mother’s life? The research says IT CAN!

Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of maternal death, and Black women are 1.5-2x more likely to develop it. Yet studies show we’re less likely to be recommended the aspirin that could help prevent it.

We can significantly lower these numbers with awareness and education so that women know to ask the right questions. I didn’t know to ask when I was pregnant so I’m spreading awareness so that other mothers can!

If you’re pregnant or planning a pregnancy, ask your provider: “Should I be taking low-dose aspirin based on my risk factors?”

We spend so much of our lives chasing things that don’t even matter. Without your health, you can’t completely enjoy any of the things you worked so hard for.

The moment your body fails, you realize there was only one thing that truly mattered…YOUR HEALTH!

So if you’re healthy right now, don’t take it for granted. Take care of your body and most importantly, LISTEN TO IT!

Rest before it forces you to because you don’t realize how priceless health is until it’s the only thing you’re praying to get back. ❤️
