Hsinchu City Youth Chinese Orchestra (HCYCO)
Hsinchu City Youth Chinese Orchestra(HCYCO), inaugurated in 2011, comprises 80 young elite musicians enthusiastic about Chinese music. With their high-performance standards and versatility, HCYCO is praised frequently by critics as “the most dynamic and vital Chinese orchestra in Taiwan”, considering its harmonious sonority and strong bonding amongst musicians. Under the baton of artistic director, LIU Chiang-Pin, HCYCO has held over a hundred concerts at home and abroad. Since 2011, HCYCO has planned and implemented the “Hsinchu Chinese Music Festival”, to which renowned conductors, international and local performers are invited to participate, making it one of the most important hubs of Chinese orchestral music around the globe. Upholding the motto of “Building on improvement, strive to excel”, we determine in broadening HCYCO’s horizon and public exposure, inheriting our traditions and promoting the beauty of Chinese music.
