Karur Stampede - Grievance Statement of Rt.Rev.A.Paul Francis Ravichandran

Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the Head of our Church.
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today, grieving the tragic incident that occurred on the 27th of September 2025 in Karur, Tamil Nadu. The loss of many innocent lives including women and children has brought deep sorrow to all of us in the Body of Christ.
On behalf of the C.S.I. Diocese of Madras, I convey my heartfelt condolences and prayers to the bereaved families. We mourn with you, we weep with you, and we carry you in our hearts. In this time of unimaginable pain, we plead to the Lord that the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit surround you and uphold you.
We pray especially for those who are injured and undergoing treatment. May our Lord Jesus, the Great Physician, touch them with His healing hand, and restore them to full health. We also remember in prayer all the medical personnel and caretakers who are working tirelessly to bring care and comfort.
As the Church, let us stand united in compassion and support. Let us reach out in love to those who are hurting, and uphold one another in prayer and presence.
The Diocese of Madras assures its complete support and solidarity with the Government of Tamil Nadu and all those working selflessly to provide relief in this time of crisis.
Let us continue to hold the people of Karur in our daily prayers and especially in today’s worship service. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard every grieving heart, and may the hope of resurrection bring light in this dark valley.
