SmellyFox FPV

Smashed up and broken ex climber and mountaineer, now freestyle FPV pilot.

FPV flight video is shot using a fleet of custom built quad-copters. I like to fly squashed X geometry, stiff frames, that are able to take some abuse in the trees and mountains, and are able to withstand some high g acrobatics. Apart from the tiny ones, all my aircraft are custom built for the task. With DJI O4 Pro or Osmo Nano 4K cameras to showcase the flight.

I’ve built a few FPV drones at 8S voltage recently, none have got me more excited than this one!

My first ever FPV drone, I learned to fly with this frame. It was long overdue some love! It’s a heavy build at 6S stock, but this is because it is nice and stiff, over engineered some may say… I think it could be a perfect platform for the heavier 8S setup 💪

On the bench today!

I’m re-building my first ever “proper” FPV drone, the GEPRC Vapor D5.

It’s a fantastic stock BNF, a nice solid all rounder. I’d think it should be a perfect platform for an 8S chasing/freestyle rig. I’ve replaced the guts with a more appropriate setup 💪🔥🔥🔥

On the bench this rainy day…

My Syncmode is getting a camera angle boost to bring it more in line with my other quads.

I find myself enjoying flying at about 30deg these days, and I’m really looking forward to not having to spend a couple of packs getting used to the handling between my builds.
