Currently modifying a 22 fret, CBS style maple neck, for a project I'm finally getting around to.
As I'm converting it to a 21 fret neck, I pulled the last fret, and bent it into a horseshoe shape by hand, to demonstrate how soft nickel frets are. And, show why they wear so quickly under consistent use.
Notice the fret is a clean bend, but no deformation of its structure has occurred.
Post drift repairs on this Kramer Striker 300ST. Humbucker cavity blocked, and re-routed towards the neck, to provide additional support to the bridge shelf, and allow this Seymour Duncan Dimebucker to be direct mounted to the body.
Now to drill, dowel, and re-drill the post holes, making it stronger than when it left the Korean sweatshop in the late 80's.😎🤘🎸
I was extremely lucky enough to attend the Brisbane leg of Yngwie Malmsteen's, Rising Force, 40th anniversary tour, as a VIP guest.
Meet and greet with the maestro, including a professional photo with Yngwie, he kindly signed my original 1984 Rising Force LP, and I scored one of his stage used guitar picks that he threw out to the crowd, during my all time favourite Yngwie composition, Black Star!
