We're getting close to Halloween so I thought this would be a good time to cover another round of dark and/or spooky-themed retro games on the channel like I did back in 2023.

There will be five in all, one playthrough per day for the rest of the month. The first three will go up as follows:

I finished recording the Persona 5 Royal playthrough yesterday. The playthrough will be 105 parts in total, with a new part going up each day at 10pm BST until it's complete.

My final save file time clocked in at 117 hours and 36 minutes - though that's not necessarily representative of the video series length since it doesn't account for the time I spent reloading the save to show off the bad endings, but does account for the extra Mementos grinding sessions I cut out to avoid repetition. While I'm incredibly happy to have such a great game on the channel, I appreciate that super-long playthroughs aren't for everyone - so I'm incredibly grateful to those who've been supporting the run this whole time.

I really like the world of Persona 5 and while I personally have more of a soft spot for Persona 3's tone, the Phantom Thieves are a really endearing cast of characters that kept me coming back for more. I know the "post-game" third-semester content is a bit more divisive but I mostly quite like it, so I'd recommend anyone interested in playing P5 to go with Royal instead of the vanilla game.

I think I need to let this one sit with me for a while so I probably won't be doing any /super/-long games in the near future (and thankfully, even the next few RPGs I have in mind are on the shorter side). I hope everyone who's been along for this ride with me enjoyed the videos.

Do we need a third Sonic Adventure playthrough on the channel? When there are fanmade mods that recapture the spirit of the Dreamcast version but with a 4K resolution at 60fps as afforded by modern PCs, I'd argue yes... but I love this game to pieces, so that shouldn't be a surprise.

A redone longplay of Super Mario Land will be going up tonight at 10pm BST. While the game has been covered on the channel before, this new video includes two playthroughs this time: a fresh run of the normal mode, then a run of the game's expert mode featuring additional enemy placements, which is unlocked immediately after being the game once.

...It's still a short game either way, but I felt like replaying one of my favourite classic platformers as a change of pace after working on so many really long Persona 5 Royal videos lately, so here we are. Hope you enjoy it!
