Once again, the @KWHgames games channel on YouTube has featured a Break system gamebook on their Sanctuary Sunday series. The book accompanying his cup of coffee this week focuses on The Winter Mission, the third and final instalment of my latest gamebook trilogy!

Generous as ever (especially with a fledgling indie creator), Robert shares, “I like these books, I like the writing, and I like the game feel of it as well.” He considers them “good quality choose your own adventure game books”. He concludes so graciously, thanking me for writing them and for the opportunity to experience them.

I’m so thankful; reactions like his do wonders in motivating me to write even more!

The Fall Affair featured on KilroyWasHere!

Once again, for a combination Coffee with Kilroy and Sanctuary Sunday presentation, Robert was generous enough to feature my recent gamebook, The Fall Affair!

On top of that, he made so many kind observations, about the overarching story, the quality of writing, the replayability, the bonus materials, and so much more.

I know I’ve said it before, but it’s impossible to overstate how much it means to have someone you admire be so generous and kind.

Again, big thanks to Robert, and check out his channel! youtube.com/@KWHgames

I was pleased to see that Dr. Marco Arnaudo -- of youtube.com/@marcoomnigamer and author of several books of his own -- did a video covering various recent gamebooks, briefly Operation CanCon, a bit more on The Summer Job, and the remainder on Hikikomori.

He focuses on the content of the latter two particularly and does a great overview of their distinctive branching structures. We get to see a lot of the contents of each, and he even sketches out an example of Hikikomori's minigame, Ino. The value of his attention is incalculable, and I deeply appreciate it.

The youtube.com/@KWHgames channel on YouTube has dedicated its most recent Sanctuary Sunday instalment to The Summer Job gamebook!

Robert has so many kind things to say, it’s just incredible. He avoids any spoilers, but gives a great close-up look at the latest version.

I trust he’s glad the story spends so much time in a coffee shop!

Recently, Mandi Hutchinson of youtube.com/@SaltandSassGames returned to Operation CanCon: Canadian Eighties Music Shopping Gamebook for a Twitch session!

Throughout the how-to and playthrough, she and the audience are clearly having fun, singing along, quizzing each other about music trivia, reminiscing about Canadiana, suggesting picks for future games, as well as naming their favourite stores.

(Pssst! HMV didn’t appear on the Yonge Street strip until 1991, and closed in 2017, but you can still visit it in the second Operation CanCon instalment, which is set in the Nineties!)

Print out a full-sized checklist to play along, and set the mood with our YouTube playlist, both available at lockdownludonaut.com/

Then, check out the session...

Here’s a day to mark in my calendar…

Alan Cross -- youtube.com/@alancrossmusicgeek -- a veteran broadcaster and authority on all things musical, Canadian or otherwise, featured Operation CanCon on his latest Journal of Musical Things instalment: “With Cancon in the news these days, there’s a new book on the subject.”

He praises the series, in part observing that “it’s not a stuffy academic book. Instead, it gamifies things in an interesting way.”

He also shares the latest YouTube “Reveal” of the third in the trilogy, Classics.
