How about a late smile for a happy. Here’s Stormy. He lives across the street but spends a few hours in the dark of night (and sometimes in the day) wandering our property.

Oh yes I brought her home with me.
And yes, she’s making me happy, even if i don’t know what I will do with her yet.

This is Beyond the Road Not Taken which will part of a new collection for this year's Open Studios happening in October.
I'm fairly new to the local arts scene, so when this opportunity came up with one of our small local papers, I decided to give it a shot. They are doing a thing called the Lookout list where the community can vote on the best of all sorts of things.
People have to nominate you in your category and the top five in each category go on the big list for the community to vote on.
I am eligible in the category Best Stop Open Studios Tour North County but of course the tour hasn’t happened yet. I asked them how that would work. They said to ask friends and people who have been following my work to nominate me so this is me, doing hard stuff, and asking. 🫣
The top five in each category go on the main ballot for the community to vote on. But first I have to get enough boats to get on the ballot.
So you can write my name in if you want to support my art journey. There's nothing anywhere that says you have to be a resident of my area.🙄
I’d appreciate any support .
The deadline is Sunday.
You do have to make an account that will sign up for their newsletter in order to vote. When my husband did it he went to my custom link (below) and started typing my name and it took him to the Lookout page. You can sign in with Facebook. Then it pops you back to the page to write in my name.

Thanks for considering it.

This is the studio where I did not spend any time today. That does not make me happy. But ticking other things off my list does.
Doctor appointment. Check.
Design and order post cards for open studios. Check.
Design and order labels for other items. Check.
Back to town for my flu shot. Check.
Tired now. But happy.

Busy day today. On my way home from getting some of my art photographed I stopped at a little estate sale and picked up this adorable little table and chair for a whopping $20. They will fit perfectly on the little deck outside my studio.
And they're green!
So happy.

How about some pictures of the stumpery garden for a happy today? Because otherwise it’s a picture of another big mess in the studio while I am prepping things to work on.
And here’s something kind of fun for me. They do a local thing here called the Lookout list where the community can vote on the best of of all sorts of things. This year they have a category for the best stop on the open Studios tour. All kinds of people can do right in votes in the top five will go to the public round of community voting. It’s a great opportunity for me to get more exposure for my art.
But there’s something weird because my category is best stop on the open Studios tour North County, but of course the tour hasn’t happened yet and nominations close this Sunday.
Still, it’s a legit category and you can write my name in if you want to support me in my art. Maybe you came to the tour last year or maybe you enjoy my art online. I’d appreciate any support

This week is insane. And my back is not my friend at the moment. But I'm making messes in the studio and making plans for a plan and that makes me happy.

It's been a very good day. Had an art curator friend come over and help me go over all my art to get ready for Open Studios in October. We talked about pricing, display, to frame or not to frame, and all those other sometimes picky technical questions. I'm ever so grateful for her sharing her expertise with me.
Hubby has updated the pricing spreadsheet and is ready to make the labels. I have some finishing of some small projects to do, but I shouldn't be quite as slammed as I was last year.
The only thing I still have to figure out is bags for carrying away what people will hopefully purchase.

Done! Looking forward to having the photographer shoot better pictures but so glad to call it done. And that makes me happy.
It's about 14" long, 10" deep, 9" tall.

Another day in the studio and this Found in the Forest piece continues to grow. It should be finished tomorrow. I hope. Many deadlines ahead.
It's a happy day.
