A Singapore court will open a coroner’s inquiry into the death of Indian singer-songwriter Zubeen Garg on January 14, 2026, the State Courts have said. The fact-finding hearing aims to determine the circumstances surrounding the 52-year-old’s death, after investigations by Singapore police were submitted to the State Coroner.

Garg, a popular artist from Assam, died on September 19 in Singapore after being found unconscious off St John’s Island and later pronounced dead at hospital.
