Hey Guys,
Ronald Here! The Criterion Collection is putting out The Wiz this week. I got an early glimpse at it.
This 1978 movie looks like it came out 10 years ago. It's beautiful,sharp, detailed, and colorful.
The Atmos track is well separated, ultra sharp, and surprisingly bassy. The middle channel is so clear it sounds like they're in the room.
Extras are thin, including only a guest commentary from Michael B. Gillespie and Alfred L. Martin, and a couple of interviews. I felt like this could have been an opportunity to cram this release with cool stuff, but meh.
Other than the lack of extras, this is the definitive The Wiz release.
