Jan Vogler is especially known for his beautiful and expressive sound, sophisticated style and broad repertoire. While he made his career with his sophisticated interpretations of the classical works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak and Schumann, he soon developed unusual collaborations across genres, for example with actor Bill Murray, poet Amanda Gorman or playing in concert with Eric Clapton and Udo Lindenberg. Jan was born into a family of musicians in East Berlin. He studied with Peter Vogler, Josef Schwab and Heinrich Schiff. The New York Times praises his “soulful, richly hued playing” and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung the ability “to make his cello speak like a singing voice”. Jan Vogler performs regularly with some of the worlds leading orchestras and conductors. His recording of the Dvorak Cello concerto with the New York Philharmonic won him a Diapason d'Or and a Choc du Monde de la Musique. He has been an exclusive recording artist with Sony Classical since 2003.
