🥁 In tribute to the mighty Clem Burke 🙏

Here’s a drum cover I recorded a few years ago of “One Way Or Another” — one of my favourite Blondie tracks.

I was lucky enough to watch Clem light up the stage with this one every night while touring as part of Hugh Cornwell’s band on a Blondie tour we shared a few years back. Every performance by Clem and the band was a masterclass in energy, style, and pure rock ’n’ roll firepower.

Clem’s playing has been a big influence on me, and this video is a small nod to the inspiration he’s given — not just to me, but to drummers everywhere.

I USED TO BE AFRAID OF BEING PRESENT

I’d drop into the now and feel it—
The stillness. The beauty. The clarity.
And then... I’d freak out.
Not because presence was scary.
But because I thought it was.
So I’d think my way out of it.
I didn’t realise that it was my thinking about presence that scared me—not the presence itself.
And because I didn’t understand how I was creating my experience, I built a habit of scaring myself out of the very peace I was looking for.
Thankfully—with some powerful mentors and insight—I started to wake up.

And when you wake up, you realise something simple but world-changing:
Presence is where all your power lives.
Not in overthinking. Not in forcing.
But right here. Right now.
Presence. Power. Poise. Pow.
From this place, you’re not just ready to respond to life—
You’re able to make proactive moves from clarity.
That’s your ultimate leverage point.
Because from clarity, you get freedom.
And from freedom, you stop waiting.
You just fucking do what’s required.

In absolute presence, there is no fear.
Unless there’s a real threat, fear is psychological—a perspective, not a reality.
And when you see that you’re the one generating it?
You stop treating it like a truth.
And in that moment, you get your bandwidth back.
You create space. Joy. Movement. Magic.

You’re not afraid of being present.
You just think you are.
