SILVER just went wild again.
On Feb 11, 2026, silver jumped roughly 6 to 7 percent to around $86 per ounce, as the US dollar weakened and Treasury yields fell ahead of key US jobs data and rate-cut expectations.
But the bigger story is not the daily candle… it’s supply and demand.
The Silver Institute says 2026 could be the 6th straight year where the silver market runs a deficit, meaning total demand is higher than total supply, estimated around 67 million ounces.
At the same time, they expect physical investment demand to jump about 20 percent to roughly 227 million ounces, even as some industrial demand cools.
What this can mean for silver investors
- A deficit can make the market more sensitive to spikes in buying
- If investment demand rises while supply stays tight, volatility can increase fast
- Macro still matters a lot, especially the dollar, yields, and Fed expectations
