🚨 NVIDIA is discontinuing the RTX 3060, the most popular GPU among gamers.

According to major Board Partners, NVIDIA has told them it's their last opportunity to place an order for the RTX 3060. Companies like Palit and Colorful were notified that they can make their orders for the final supply run of this SKU.

The RTX 3060, launched in February 2021, is one of the most popular GPUs with a 5.9% share among all gamers according to a Steam survey.

It is assumed that both the 8GB and 12GB VRAM versions of the RTX 3060 are going to be discontinued, however there is no news of the fate of the other 30 Series cards.

Gamers should note, however, that even after being discontinued, NVIDIA will keep supplying the 3060 to partners who will then bring them to the market. So, any impact from this decision will need several months to effect the consumer market.

🔍 Intel Extends Warranty for 13th and 14th Gen CPUs

🔧 What’s Happening? Intel has decided to extend the warranty period for its boxed 13th and 14th generation Core Raptor Lake CPUs. This move comes in response to widespread instability issues affecting these processors.

⏰ Extended Warranty: 5 Years Previously, Intel’s processors typically came with a three-year warranty. Now, they’ve bumped it up to five years for most boxed processors. So, if you’re rocking one of these chips, you’ve got some extra peace of mind.

đźš« The Crashing Problem The crashing and instability issues have been plaguing these CPUs for months. It affects all 65W and higher models, from flagship chips to mid-range ones. Intel attributes this to excessive voltage, which can lead to permanent damage.

🔧 Microcode Update Incoming Intel plans to release a microcode update by mid-August to address these crashing issues. Unfortunately, if your chip is already crashing, the update won’t magically fix it. You’ll need to return your processor for a replacement.

🔍 What’s Next? Intel is also investigating an easy way to identify impacted processors.
