Fresh off the signing of lineal cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia, Zuffa Boxing has released its first official promotional video — and it made an immediate statement.
The two-minute promo, narrated by Max Kellerman, was slickly produced and sets the tone for what Zuffa appears to be building in the boxing space. Viewers get their first glimpse of the Zuffa Championship belt as Dana White approaches a traditional boxing ring, symbolizing the company’s formal entry into the sport.
The montage also flashes several fighters either signed to or associated with the promotion. Fighters featured in the promo include:

🥊 Jai Opetaia🥊 Callum Walsh🥊 Efe Ajagba🥊 Mohamed Alakel🥊 Brandon Adams🥊 Christian Mbilli

While no official announcement has been made, the inclusion of super middleweight interim champion Christian Mbilli and junior middleweight contender Brandon Adams strongly suggests both fighters have joined what Zuffa is positioning as a new era in boxing

Oscar De La Hoya — the former fighting legend turned promoter who has long claimed to champion fighters’ interests — has responded to reports that Golden Boy’s Vergil Ortiz Jr. is seeking a release from his promotional contract.

The situation unfolds amid stalled negotiations for a highly anticipated bout between Ortiz and Jaron “Boots” Ennis — a fight widely regarded as easy to make. Both fighters want it, fans want it, and DAZN has shown clear interest.
However, Golden Boy’s exclusive broadcast agreement with DAZN has expired, with no extension currently in place.

Compounding the issue, De La Hoya’s relationship with Saudi boxing financier Turki Alalshikh has deteriorated. Oscar has publicly criticized the growing trend of staging major fights in Riyadh, repeatedly stating his desire to “bring big fights back to America.”

With the Saudi bridge seemingly burned, De La Hoya has reportedly aligned himself once again with Al Haymon — the same man he previously sued over alleged violations of the Muhammad Ali Act, and who was accused of luring away a large portion of Golden Boy’s roster years ago.
According to multiple reports, Golden Boy and Haymon’s PBC have begun collaborating, starting with the co-promotion of Barrios vs. Garcia. Talks are also advancing for a massive Mexican showdown between David Benavidez and Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, with both events slated for Amazon Prime PPV.

As it stands, Golden Boy now joins the growing list of major American promoters without a long-term broadcasting deal. With the recent announcement that Ring Magazine champion Jai Opetaia will join Zuffa Boxing in 2026, the balance of power in boxing promotion appears to be shifting rapidly — and not in Golden Boy’s favor.

Many Black fight fans are outraged by Ring Magazine’s latest Pound-for-Pound rankings — citing the lack of Black American representation and questioning the low placement (or outright exclusion) of deserving fighters.

So we have to ask…
Is history repeating itself?

Nearly a century ago, boxing had the Black Murderers’ Row — a collection of elite, dangerous Black American fighters who were systematically denied world title opportunities. Champions ducked them. Promoters avoided them. With no way forward, they were forced to fight each other just to survive.

Fast-forward to today.

Yes, the modern era has more belts than ever. Yes, many highly skilled Black American fighters have received title shots.
But let’s not pretend the practice of strategic avoidance has disappeared — it’s simply evolved.

At US6, we present the modern-day parallel to the Black Murderers’ Row.

The Blacklisted Surgeons

Highly skilled, surgical Black American fighters who are consistently avoided at the top of the sport:
1. Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs)
2. Albert Bell (29-0, 9 KOs)
3. Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs)
4. Lamont Roach Jr. (25-1-3, 10 KOs)
5. O’Shaquie Foster (24-3, 12 KOs)
6. Raymond Ford (18-1-1, 8 KOs)

Like the Black Murderers’ Row before them, the uncomfortable question must be asked:

If the elite continue to avoid them… should some of the Blacklisted Surgeons be forced to fight each other just to move forward?

For deeper context on the original Black Murderers’ Row, check out the excellent documentary by @Champside:
“Black Murderers’ Row – Your Favorite Boxer Won’t Survive.”

After a successful reintroduction to the American fanbase, rumors are swirling that Anthony Joshua is eyeing a February matchup with kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven.

But let’s be real.

With Black History Month recognized and celebrated across America, the fight that actually makes sense — financially, culturally, and historically — is Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder.

For decades, Black fight fans have been overlooked and understated.
The boxing machine bends over backward to recognize the Mexican fanbase and will acknowledge Puerto Rican fight fans before ever catering to Black Americans — the same people who carried this sport, built its stars, and made boxing what it is today.

The US6 would proudly sanction Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder for the Usual Suspects Heavyweight Championship this February.

We’re confident the WBB and IBO would also be interested in sanctioning a fight of this magnitude.

American fight fans have been clamoring for this matchup for nearly a decade.
This isn’t nostalgia — this is unfinished business.

In honor of Black History Month, cities like Detroit, DC, Houston, and Atlanta aren’t just options — they’re necessary.

❌ No to Rico.
❌ And the only Tysons Americans care about are Iron Mike… and the one in the frozen food aisle.

After the announcement of TKO Boxing’s first show—tentatively scheduled for January 23rd, 2026—boxing fans have been buzzing, speculating about who will make up the league’s inaugural roster.

During a live call-in episode of Open Mic, featuring Atlanta-area boxer Tay Jones, it was revealed that heavyweight prospect Dacaree “Mac Truck” Scott (9–1, 8 KOs) has officially signed with the league.
Scott enters on a two-fight win streak after rebounding from a stoppage loss to fringe heavyweight contender Jonathan Guidry (17–2–1). The power is real, and Mac Truck appears to be back on track.

Rumors are also swirling that former cruiserweight standout turned heavyweight contender Andrew Tabiti (22–2, 18 KOs) has joined the league as well. Tabiti is riding a two-fight win streak since being decisioned by Australian heavyweight contender Justis Huni (12–1).
Most recently, The Beast looked sensational, stopping previously unbeaten Jacob Dickson in front of Dickson’s home crowd in Accra, Ghana—a statement performance that turned heads across the division.

Time will tell if both American heavyweights will be featured on TKO Boxing’s debut card, set to be broadcast on Paramount+.

đź‘€ Stay tuned.

Reason #2 the #US6 is TRASHING the WBC Belt:

đź’° The Bigger the Fight, the Bigger the Fee**

With the WBC, everything has a price tag.
Want to skip your mandatories? Cut a check.
Want to get elevated without earning it? Cut a bigger check.

Merit doesn’t move you—money does.

Look at the latest circus act:

🥊 Ryan Garcia — fresh off a lackluster loss to Rolly Romero, 0–1 at welterweight, nothing in the division but selfies and interviews… yet somehow he’s rewarded with an immediate title shot against long-standing champ Mario Barrios.

How?
Simple. Star power = sanctioning power = WBC dollar signs.

Then there’s the walking contradiction:

🥊 Conor Benn — magically ranked #1 mandatory at welterweight, despite not fighting at 147 since 2022 against Chris Algieri. His last three fights were at 154 and 160.
But the WBC didn’t blink. Didn’t flinch. Didn’t care.

Because Conor brings attention.
Attention brings money.
And money brings “flexibility” in the rankings.

The WBC isn’t protecting champions.
They’re not honoring contenders.
They’re protecting sanctioning fees, plain and simple.

The bigger the name → the bigger the fight → the bigger the bag for the WBC.
Sporting integrity gets tossed to the side like a used ice pack.

This is why the #US6 is trashing the WBC belt.

Reason #4 the US6 is TRASHING the WBC Belt: Protect The Franchise

The #franchise belt wasn’t created for boxing…
It was created for boxers the WBC wanted to protect.
A special VIP pass for the chosen few — the “don’t make them fight mandatories” belt.

Introduced in 2019, the so-called Franchise Champion status gave certain “preferred stars” the privilege to:
• Dodge their mandatory challengers
• Chase hand-picked fights
• Disrupt the entire world title structure

What did this create?
A 2nd-tier world title, confusion for fans, and a power loophole for promoters.

And the franchise foolishness started with two names:

Canelo Alvarez & Vasyl Lomachenko.

Lomachenko’s franchise upgrade was the first blatant abuse.
Instead of facing his #1 mandatory Devin Haney, Loma was given a WBC hall pass, all in the name of “pursuing undisputed.”

And with one signature, the WBC:
• Removed Loma’s obligation
• Blocked Devin’s earned shot
• Created the now-infamous EMAIL champion label
• And spit out yet another unnecessary belt

The waters turned straight swampy when Loma lost his fake “undisputed” unification to Teofimo Lopez.
All four belts were put on the line — even though Devin Haney was the actual WBC lightweight champion.

Instead of cleaning it up and forcing consolidation, the WBC doubled down on the clown show and transferred the franchise distinction to Teofimo Lopez.
No mandatories. No accountability. No integrity.
Just franchised chaos.

But the same fighter they tried to sideline…
The same fighter they wanted boxed out of the big picture…

Was the one who ended this entire farce.

Devin Haney.

Haney went to Australia, beat George Kambosos twice, and became the legitimate, unquestioned, undisputed lightweight champion of the world.
And when presented with the franchise status?

He refused it.
Straight up rejected the nonsense and put that designation right where it belongs:
