Bryan Arivett and Joe Smalley come together weekly to bring you a PlayStation podcast.

Critical Frames

Dear all,

Given that Bryan and I are at very different stages in life - both creatively and otherwise - we’ve reached a point where, after 22 episodes, it feels right to conclude our journey.

This decision ultimately stems from Bryan, who, after doing a previous podcast for half a decade and now this one intermittently for over a year, wants his out-of-work time to be entirely focused on his family. This is a decision I fully support and deeply respect. As for myself, given my hectic schedule, producing the podcast had become an increasing strain that simply wasn’t feasible to maintain.

We've learned that, more often than not, not everyone needs to have a voice in this industry, and that’s something we’re entirely at peace with.

Looking to the future, Bryan and I will, of course, be ending the show on the best of terms, with no hard feelings between us at all. Bryan will continue to be the avid gamer that he is, always perusing the newsfeeds in his downtime and playing the latest releases. As for me, I’ll be exploring new horizons, ready to embrace creative pursuits wherever they may take me. All of this makes it feel like the perfect moment to end things on a high.

To our wonderful Patreon supporters: thank you for going above and beyond in supporting us. As we step back, we’ll be ending all Patreon tiers, but every piece of free and Patreon-exclusive content will remain available in the catalogue, so you can revisit the content at any time.

We also want to extend a massive appreciation to everyone who has tuned in and supported us along the way. Your enthusiasm, insights, and encouragement have meant the world to us, and we couldn’t have asked for a better community to share this experience with.

For those who want to stay in touch, our email will remain open indefinitely. Feel free to reach out to us at: criticalframes@gmail.com.

Until we meet again, stay passionate, stay curious, stay sceptical, and, as always, stay Critical.

Best wishes,
Joe, Co-Host & Executive Producer
