As we ate, the topic shifted to something deeper: rehabilitation and recovery. These guys opened up about their struggles—the cycle of addiction, the streets, the hopelessness. I shared the raw truth: Recovery isn’t easy. It’s messy, it’s hard, but it’s possible. We talked about finding detox programs right here in Phoenix—local clinics that can help kickstart the process.
They were super curious about the new meds hitting the scene. Stuff like the latest buprenorphine formulations and naltrexone implants that make cravings more manageable, or even emerging treatments like ibogaine-assisted therapy in clinical trials. The bullying needs to stop. 🛑

People are dying—and the hate, harassment, and constant attacks contribute more than some want to admit.

Stop tearing down people who are trying to create change and make a difference. Those doing the work are human too. We struggle. We carry weight. We absorb pain so others don’t have to. We don’t always show it because we have to stay strong for the people we serve—but it takes its toll.

Compassion burnout is real. Harassment has consequences. Words matter.

Another hero is gone, and that loss should give us all pause.
