Morning fellas, I hope you're all well. You might be wondering why I uploaded twice today after a month-long hiatus, so I'll let you know why. In essence, I'd like to take a break from YouTube and Twitch for a bit - it's great fun making these videos and seeing that you guys enjoy them, but at the end of the day it's another thing to think about, and I'd like to put it to the side right now. I'm meant to be starting university in September, and there are other things too that I need to be focusing on (don't get me wrong, this is also largely due to my own laziness, it's not just tending to this channel). This isn't goodbye, I'll likely still post something every now and then but in regards to sustained regular uploads over time it might be a little quiet here. I still have an ever-growing list of requests for the added context series and I don't mean to abandon them, so don't fret overly much (although I'm sure you won't).

Thank you for everything, you guys are a wonderful audience and it's been a privilege to entertain you all. Once I've sorted out what needs sorting in my life I hope to return to doing so!

I began typing this at least an hour ago, but of course in true 'me' fashion I accidentally clicked 'cancel' and here I am re-typing this feeling like a right fool. Anyways, I wanted to thank you all for 5,000 subscribers; I couldn't help but smile seeing the string of kind words and feedback appearing in mere minutes of posting the 'Twa Recruiting Sergeants' edit. Thank you guys, really.

I started playing around with a design on Photoshop just under a couple of months ago, and ending up liking it, so I slapped it onto some clothes and a mug to commemorate the channel passing 5,000 subs. Now, for goodness sake please don't feel compelled to buy anything - I simply thought it would be nice to have a physical keepsake to remember this point of the channel, whatever the future might hold for it.

I should have another Sea of Thieves stream highlight video out in the next week or so for those of you who enjoy that sort of content!

If you told 12-year-old me that the channel he made and posted a ridiculously absurd video on would go on to garner over a million views, well, he'd probably believe you because he's a gullible 12-year-old who dreamt way too much of achieving YouTube fame. Thank you guys for everything. Apologies for the dry patch but I should have a shanty vid finished in the next day or so.

There's a small channel called Maritime Horrors that produces (in my opinion) pretty high quality, well-researched vids on, well, Maritime Horrors. Hey everyone! Thank you again for all of the kind comments and views for the past month, it's honestly wonderful to see that you guys are enjoying what I've uploaded recently.

Speaking of my uploads, I wanted to gauge your feelings towards my other content, as it's fairly different to what prompted you to subscribe (or at least I assume so, I only had around 40 subs before my first 'shanty' upload). Would any of you be interested in seeing more videos akin to my older content, such as Frenchman and my Minecraft videos, and discussions/commentaries? Or would you prefer I stick to content of an oceanic origin ('shanties' and Sea of Thieves)?

Please keep in mind the results of this poll won't dictate what I post from now on - largely because while I enjoy making my recent content, I'm not sure if I want to be restricted to it, and partly because I'm unsure how many of you will even see this. I would appreciate getting a clearer idea of your preferences, though!
