Water-Borne Diseases: Keep Your Child Safe During Rainy Season.
Rainy days bring fun, puddles and cooler weather, but they can also increase the risk of water-borne and mosquito-borne diseases, especially in young children.

Diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid, jaundice, hepatitis A, gastroenteritis and malaria can affect children when they are exposed to contaminated food, unsafe water, poor hygiene or mosquito bites.

Simple rainy-season safety habits for parents:

1. Give children safe, purified or properly boiled drinking water.
2. Encourage frequent handwashing with soap, especially before eating and after using the toilet.
3. Serve fresh, hygienically prepared and well-cooked food.
4. Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before serving.
5. Store drinking water in clean, covered containers.
6. Prevent mosquito breeding by avoiding stagnant water around the home.
7. Keep your surroundings clean and dispose of waste properly.
8. Teach children not to drink or play around potentially contaminated water.

Age-appropriate learning matters.
For children aged 2–8 years, turn safety habits into simple everyday routines. Teach younger children through repetition and demonstration, while older children can gradually understand why clean water, hygiene, safe food and mosquito prevention are important.

Remember: Small habits can make a big difference in protecting children during the rainy season.

Happy Gandhi Jayanti and Happy Dussehra.

Look at this fun picture. It's celebrating two very special days.
On one side, we see Mahatma Gandhi, who we call Bapu. He taught us to be kind, peaceful and honest. He's holding a little bird and children are around him. You can also see a spinning wheel, which reminds us of his simple life. The Indian flag is waving high.

On the other side, it's Dussehra. This festival celebrates good winning over bad. We see Lord Rama, the blue-skinned hero with his bow and arrow, ready to celebrate. And there's a big, happy effigy of Ravana, which is usually burned to show that good always wins. Children are also playing with bows and arrows, just like Rama.
Both these days remind us to be good, kind and brave. Let's celebrate with joy and love. Happy Gandhi Jayanti and Happy Dussehra to all our little ones
