🌿In this Wild Basketry Course, I’ll show you how to create your own basket, step-by-step, using foraged materials like cattails, dandelions, daffodils, plantain, and corn husks. I’ll walk you through from harvesting and preparation tips to weaving them into a beautiful, functional basket. By the end, you'll have a unique, handmade piece and the skills to keep weaving from nature yourself.

🌿 This is a self-paced online course, allowing you to learn whenever it suits you. You don't need to complete it all in one sitting, you can work through the lessons at your own pace and return to them whenever you wish.

While the course demonstrates the basket using specific plants, the techniques can be adapted to many other suitable weaving materials. You can even begin by making a basket using just a single plant if that's what you have available. My aim is not only to teach you how to make this basket, but to help you understand the principles of working with natural fibres so that you can confidently explore and experiment with plants available in your own local area.

Through the quiet, darker months I’ve been slowly weaving this book bag from wild plants.
Sweet flag, cattails, willow bark, plantain stems, and corn husks, each fibre carrying its own memory of the land and the season it came from.
Working with these plants became part of my healing. Slow, repetitive, grounding. 
A small woven bag made to carry a book. A place for the stories that travel with us.
Weaving with wild plants always feels like continuing an ancient conversation with the land.

It won't be long before Dandelion season is upon us again in the northern hemisphere so I hope this might inspire you to think about crafting one.
