People assume I am more confident than I really am.
Posting on social media for 10 years you become pretty good at looking comfortable.
I have the same insecurities that you do, I sometimes read one comment that throws me off for a day or two.
I sometimes lay in bed at night wondering if people misconstrued what I said in a video and if I should go downstairs at 2am to delete it.
I worry about people no longer watching my stuff, I worry about “falling off”, I worry one day I won’t be able to provide for my family.
I have all the concerns every normal person has, I just don’t communicate it much.
But I have a little win, so let me cook.
I started ‘this’ business late 2023. It was a proof of concept to begin.
Why? Because I had the insecurities that no one would care, no one would want another washed up ‘course bro’.
But worst yet, I really worried that deep down I didn’t actually know that much and I didn’t actually have what it takes to be worth the money.
I won’t lie. 6 months into the business, not many people had really any crazy results or transformations. A lot of people were quote on quote happy with their investment, but I hadn’t actually changed many lives.
I would be lying to you if I said 6 months ago I wasn’t worried a little bit that maybe I was just as much as con artist as the rest of them.
Someone who survived the gauntlet of social media with an over inflated ego to what my true skillsets or knowledge really was.
In the last 3 weeks, a lot of ‘breakthrough’ results have come to fruition.
And I am delighted that some businesses have literally changed overnight. One lad grew 80k followers in a week, gained dozens of high paying clients.
Another just had to hire staff to keep up, some went viral, a lot of them have brand new businesses and brand new lives they live within.
I’ve always said “think in months not weeks.”
I personally had a few demons that maybe what I was saying wasn’t true.
Maybe it was like when a doctor says “it may get worse before it gets better.”That makes no sense and just makes people feel better about whatever happens.
I am now, however, delighted for the results my mentees are getting, but if I am really real with you.
I feel so much better, because I feel a lot less like a con artist.
But why even say this?
Well, truth be told. I think we all do. We all doubt ourselves, we all worry about our capabilities and if you’re like me…
… every stripe payment makes me feel a little uneasy because I’m not sure I’d pay myself that much if I wasn’t me.
I often portray a facade that I don’t doubt myself, but I do every day.
I think it’s normal and I think everyone is better off if we’re honest about it.
Let me tell you this, not one of the people I worked with ‘went clear’ without at least 2-3 months of depressingly slow and unimpressive performances.
But let me remind you this:
Every single thing counts.
Every post that bombs, every video no one watches, every failed attempt, every single deflating moment, every night you lay in bed with anxiety about what you said or did in a video.
It all counts.
Eventually fate will weigh up all of your efforts, or lack of, then opportunity will go to those who made it count.
If you give it everything, all the effort you have to give.
It no longer becomes “if” but instead “when”.
Here’s to another year of trying to prove to myself I’m good enough. Haha.
I don’t do many inside my head posts like this, so get that in you, ya cock jockey. James
I've just increased my mentorship price for the 7th time and had to up my 1-2-1 "high ticket" offer 2 weeks after launching it.
I have an editor, a manager and I took on that young Lucas lad - that's my entire b2b "team".
I'm not greedy - the issue is, it's only me.
Every discord response, me.
Every 1-2-1 call, me.
Every module in my mentorship, written and filmed by me.
I cannot reproduce myself, I am not training AI bots to answer questions for you either.
I wake up, I'm helping my clients. I walk the dog, I'm helping my clients. I fly business class, I'm on discord at 37,000 feet.
You may think it's stupid to be so involved, but to me, I would half agree...
But the other half LOVES being in there all day, because I don't think any of my competitors are in the trenches spending as much time as I am learning the market, giving advice then seeing in real time the results.
There are gurus making more than me, but I don't think they're more impactful than me nor do I think they have the finger on the pulse of true marketing in this day and age.
I'll be honest, I'm more than happy for 95% of you on this channel to never buy my shit.
But, if you're considering it, now is a good time.
Because it's what I would call the "goldilocks zone" - I'm making great money and people that join aren't having to part with much of their own hard earned money to access me.
There are a lot of gurus online giving out business advice about running a fitness business.
But I'm not sure how many of them actually ran a successful fitness business.
Where they live and what they drive was from coaching coaches, not people.
Now, there are loads of coaches who ran 'more successful' businesses than me.
Kayla & Tobi, Adam Sullivan, Courtney Black and even Joe Wicks.
But truth be told, since 2017 there's only been 2x of us operating the entire business.
We contract amazing coaches and developers...and that's it.
Nearly 120,000 customers.
Never needed a sales call. Never needed a high ticket. Never needed a marketing department. Never needed to sell in DMs. We never even nailed paid ads, we spend more in stripe fees each year than paid ads. 😅
Maybe I'm just bias because this is my way of doing things.
By all means, do what works best for you at the end of the day.
Haha can't believe I'm saying this, but I only started using a calendar in 2024 when I launched the mentorship.
I literally had nothing in my diary for 7 years. hahaha.
Maybe that's aspirational for you, maybe it's put you off.
But personally, I don't like giving anyone a modicum of my energy unless they're benefitting my life.
Usually by being a client. (No offence prospects)
Make of that what you will.
But if you're going to join a guru's program, maybe check their receipts.
Most people make money from teaching how to make money.

I know this isn't sexy to say...
But email automations absolutely slap.
I know a lot of you don't believe in them, so how about this.
Check out how I make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year without having to lift a finger.
It's simple, click this link www.jamessmith.business/30-days-james
Look at the process of how I acquire new business, get inspired, implement it to your own business.
For the record, the majority of people buy from me between days 19-21.
Let me know in a few weeks why you think that is.
James
P.s imagine a world where you get a fist bump in the local shops and someone says "mate, great email today."
Then you realise you haven't written a new email in months, they're just enjoying an automation.
Welcome to the game. :)

Access to me is only going to get more expensive.
So I'll maybe see you inside, maybe not.
Either way, I hope you like the content.

So many "well known" gym franchises still screw over personal trainers with awful deals surrounding "free rent".
Today, I expose them https://youtu.be/dy6csvT8FRo
