Here, you will hear restored and cleaned recordings from albums in my collection and others. This channel features the budget labels' releases from or before the 1980s, Seeburg background music, and miscellaneous 16 2/3 rpm records.
Please note that these come from used records. Also, since most of the source material uploaded here is often from cheap budget releases, budget labels usually had low-quality control standards. Thus, some of these records have defects that my software cannot handle.
I want to note that before April 2012, I didn't upload videos like the ones mentioned above, and most videos before that were not cleaned up; many were not even direct recordings and, as a result, may sound inferior to the uploads after that date.

Happy Easter, everyone! This is an old video, 12 years old.... but to think there was a span of many years that I had no idea who was behind these tracks on this album. Anyways, I am working on a playlist of my religious, non-Christmas content.

To my valued S1K enthusiasts, this album contains tracks that I am confident we have all encountered previously; however, we may not have been aware of the ensemble responsible for them. This is a recent upload from one of the YouTube channels I regularly follow.

๐ St. Patrick's Day Thrift Store Score: John McCormack on RCA Camden CAL-407๐
Found this beauty yestday at a local thrift store โ talk about auspicious timing! John McCormack Sings Irish Songs on RCA Camden CAL-407, and I'm dropping the post today in time for St. Patrick's Day. ๐
What makes this pressing genuinely interesting is that it spans both eras of early recording technology. Side 1 is all acoustic-era (1911โ1921), but flip it over and Bands 4 through 7 on Side 2 are post-1925 electrical recordings โ Mother Machree, Kathleen Mavourneen, The Rose of Tralee, and I Hear You Calling Me โ all captured in 1927 and 1930 with that fuller, richer electrical sound. A nice A/B comparison of the technology right on the same LP.
Originally priced at just $1.98 as part of RCA's Camden budget line โ designed to bring legendary Victor Red Seal artists into everyday homes โ and here we are decades later pulling it out of a thrift bin. The system works. ๐
I went through Discogs and YouTube to compile the tracks for the playlist โ most with transfers from this exact pressing โ and where I couldn't find those, the liner note recording dates made it easy to pin down the exact versions used on other RCA Victor compilation releases. Tried to stick with RCA Victor sources throughout.
I've folded this album into my ongoing Irish/Ireland Music (Especially for St. Patrick's Day) playlist โ give it a listen here ๐ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqlGy...
Also mixed in an Everest Irish Traditional Folk Songs album I stumbled onto while searching โ so the updated playlist has grown nicely. Enjoy the full session! ๐ถโ๏ธ

Drop a comment โ what's your go-to St. Patrick's Day record? ๐

Hey everyone! Bit of a departure from budget records and Seeburg background tracks...
Many of you might not know this, but I'm a professional genealogist (Accredited Genealogistยฎ with Swedish specialization). I've been putting together educational lectures on professional genealogy methodology.
Just curious: would anyone here be interested in this type of content? Or should I keep genealogy and records completely separate?
The most recent lecture I posted covers research questions and GPS methodologyโthe foundation of professional genealogical work.
Drop a ๐ if you'd watch, ๐ if you'd prefer I keep this channel focused on records only and not even mention my other channel's content again.
