Design Detective was created by Liz Handras, a retired law enforcement detective sergeant who truly enjoyed her career in law enforcement but also had a long-standing passion for interior decorating. During her career in law enforcement, she was often tasked or just simply volunteered to decorate offices and even worked closely with professional business designers to help create a calming working interior environment for other staff members, which how the name Design Detective came to be.
