I just got word that Will Murray, a truly legendary pulp historian and writer, died on Monday. Mark and j were honored to get to interview him not long ago. The interview starts at 42:30.
Murray was the author of over 80 books, including multiple authorized Doc Savage novels and dozens of The Destroyer (Reno Williams) novels. He also co-created Squirrel Girl with Steve Ditko, and he'd written more Sherlock Holmes stories than Arthur Conan Doyle in himself had.
He was a delightful guest that we had planned to being back for a second interview in season 2. There were several aspects of his career that we weren't able to touch on because of time constraints.
He will be missed.

I want to give a shout-out to my friend James and his channel, Quaint And Curious Volumes.
James is a thoughtful, well-read guy, but one of the main reasons I enjoy his channel so much is that he’s one of the funniest people on the internet.
His humor is dry and subtle, and it sneaks up on you. He can deliver a line with a straight face, let it sit for a second, and then the joke lands.
He’s also got a knack for making intelligent conversations about books feel relaxed and entertaining instead of stiff or academic.
If you enjoy classics, short stories, unusual books, and smart literary discussion with an understated sense of humor, you’ll enjoy James’s channel.
