I Tell Adventure Stories.
I find the most beautiful and remote places in the Western US to explore, finding unique stories and challenges along the way. For those looking to do the same thing, I also offer information and education on how you can get out there too.

There's a Cave that was hand carved in the side of a hill, hidden away on private property that tells an incredible story. During the Bannock War of 1878 dozens of homesteaders hid in this cave while the Bannock Warriors led by Chief Buffalo Horn was riding through the Bruneau River valley killing any settlers he found. The Bannocks had been pushed too far and reacted by wanting to eradicate the settlers from the area...but this cave kept an entire community from being attacked. This weekend I'll complete the filming of this project and hope to bring it to life on the channel next week.

In the latest podcast episode, Chris, Lance, and I talk about whether or not Overlanding as we know it is dead. We also make a bunch of inappropriate jokes and laugh a lot. https://youtu.be/JgW4XxOrlyg

I just launched the movie version of my Lewis and Clark project. I researched and mapped their route through Idaho back in 1805. This was my first real attempt to mix in History with Overlanding. On its own, the route is incredibly beautiful and showcases one of the Nation's most remote, rugged, and untouched wildernesses. But researching and stopping to tell the historical stories along the way made into a much more impactful adventure for me and the people on this trip. Releasing this project as a full feature is the way I always intended to promote it. I hope you enjoy.

A few weeks ago I posted about The Snake War, and a few battles that I researched and presented in a video. My research showed that in 1866 during the Battle of 3 Forks, a mountain Howitzer Cannon was lost in the Owyhee. While quite a few people believe it has been recovered, there were enough stories of people seeing it (or knowing someone who'd see it) that I decided to go back to 3 Forks with a metal detector and waders to see if I could find anything in the river. I spent a full day in the river investigating the areas I thought were the most likely places the cannon would have been lost. I specifically looked in parts of the river that would be deep enough during low water to keep the cannon hidden. The Result? I can't say for sure the cannon is or isn't in the river, but I can say there are some very interesting things buried out there. If you'd like to watch the video of this treasure hunt you can find it here: https://youtu.be/SSCNvCPk0UI

In the Battle of 3 Forks (featured in my latest video: https://youtu.be/D-f6URbA42Y) what sunk to the bottom of the Owyhee River?

My latest History Project is live. I retraced the steps of some important battles in the West's bloodiest war between Native Americans and the US Government. This war happened in Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and California...and no one really knows about it. To reach the battle sites I had to go farther into the Owyhees that I ever have before. https://youtu.be/D-f6URbA42Y
