TheArchitect1995 - Matthew Rushton

In 2013 at the age of 17 I began this channel as a means to get my first build (University of Phoenix Stadium) onto YouTube. I have come leaps and bounds since then and in 2015 I began work on my first full scale build, the University of Bolton Stadium (formerly the Macron Stadium), and with that the SkyBET EFL Championship 2018/19 project was born.

On this channel, I will post every stadium that I build along with any updates that I have regarding specific issues.

Enjoy the videos - Matthew

Just curious, when I carried out my remasters last year of all of my builds on Xbox, I did also create one for Elland Road despite it being my first PC build. Would it be worth releasing this remaster?

OPTUS STADIUM SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON

Following the long-awaited release of Optus Stadium yesterday, I'd created a post about it on Reddit where someone suggested that I should have done a side-by-side comparison of the interiors which I'll be honest I did initially contemplate but then didn't follow through with. The reason I was given is that many people probably wouldn't know what Optus actually looks like

With this in mind, would you like to see either a short or a small video showing the interiors compared with their real life counterparts?

Hey everyone,

Over the past couple of weeks as you'll have seen I've been uploading new remastered videos for all of my stadium builds up to Villa Park. In some of these cases like the Madejski, Reebok and Deepdale, major work has been carried out ranging from the addition of landscaping for the former and the complete rebuild of others. Others like Bramall Lane and Villa Park have received just light touches to update them a bit.

As for the videos themselves, I've been able to trial a new technique whereby I've cut the length down to under 6 minutes while still being able to showcase a good chunk of each stadium. Of course with this comes the removal of the "history lessons" that have been utilised from the original Deepdale video onwards. I'd also like to say that any builds going forward that are part of the SkyBET EFL Championship 2018/19 Project will not be "officially labelled" but will still be added to the playlist.

Anyway, now these videos are out and looking forwards I'd like to garner everyone's opinion on what should happen with future videos. Would you prefer me to keep going with the newer video technique used in these remasters which are shorter but still show a good amount of the stadium, or would you prefer me to go back to the old technique with the narrations?

Hi everyone,

I know it's been over a month now since my last stream so I thought I'd just give a little update as to what's been happening. I know a few people have left messages so it makes sense that I address them in this post. So, as many of you will know 2024 was a rough year for me mentally, and without going into too much detail this did have an impact on my everyday life up to and including the Christmas period. Following that final stream on Birmingham at the start of December I started to relapse again burdened with the pressure of Uni as well as seeing my motivation to build end up in a proverbial skip and on fire.

In order to help keep myself on the straight and narrow I deactivated most of my socials (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) while keeping Twitter open so I could keep an eye on the happenings with Bolton Wanderers. I also for a time removed all of my content from here, largely to keep myself from being drawn back in. I finally began counselling around the middle of last month and after the 3 sessions I had I'm in the process of transitioning to another counsellor for further sessions while at the same time keeping engaged with the Wellbeing team at Uni with whom I now meet once every 4 weeks.

The only thing I've done remotely related to Minecraft in the past month is start dabbling with WorldPainter in relation to my "Project Macquarie" build, hoping to save time once I feel ready to return to building. As for now, my main focus is on Uni and trying to prevent myself from a repeat of last year, and thus there will be no streams or posts for at least the next few months.

Thank you all for your concern and I hope you all understand.

So the result is in, and taking it into account for the next two builds in the SkyBET EFL Championship 2018/19 Project it has been determined that The Hawthorns will be streamed on my TikTok account while St Andrews will remain here on my YouTube channel. It should be clear that these streams will be exclusive to the respective platforms.

As for dates, I'm going away on Monday for 11 days and as such the current plan is to begin the streams on October 29th with The Hawthorns being streamed on Tuesdays going forwards, while St Andrews will take the Friday slot with the first stream for that being on November 1st (which so happens to be my birthday).

I shall see you all then!

Hi everyone,

My next build, the Cardiff City Stadium was completed at 8:49 this evening following 415 days of on-and-off work. With this in mind my focus now returns to the SkyBET EFL Championship 2018/19 Project and I can reveal the next two stadia in this project (builds 19 and 20) will be The Hawthorns (West Bromwich Albion) and St Andrews (Birmingham City). With this in mind and taking into account the fact the live streams on TikTok are being very well received I'd like your opinion as to how these two are to be streamed with the plan being to stream them exclusively on the specific platform. This means that one would be streamed exclusively on my TikTok profile while the other would remain here on my YouTube live streams.

Let me know below!

Just thought I'd let you all know that I plan to start work on the next two builds, The Hawthorns and St Andrews, around 2nd September. These will be stadia 19 and 20 of the SkyBET EFL Championship 2018/19 Project. I'll go over streaming details soon but I'm thinking about possibly splitting them between YouTube and TikTok.

DEEPDALE REVAMP COMPLETE - May 3, 2024

Nearly 6 years after it was originally finished back in September 2018, my recreation of Deepdale, the home of Preston North End, has undergone what was more or less a complete rebuild after I considered it to be my worst ever build.

After just shy of 2 weeks, I can now reveal that this revamp is finally complete... at the third attempt.

This version is a full 50 blocks shorter than the original clocking in at 152 blocks in height as opposed to 202 blocks. The seating layout has been modified to allow for the stands to gradually get steeper as they go up thereby allowing for more realism, while the pitch has been completely replaced with a natural turf surface as opposed to the glowstone and carpet treatment that I'd given it when it was originally done. The seating in the Invincibles Pavilion has been moved 9 blocks closer to the pitch, having been further away than it should have been, and finally the advertising boards have been updated to reflect those seen in the stadium during the 2023/24 campaign.

Two more of my earlier stadia, in the form of Ashton Gate and the Select Car Leasing Stadium, are also set to be updated over the coming weeks so stay tuned for that, while I also plan on redoing the Toughsheet Community Stadium for the final time next year.

CHANNEL UPDATE - DOWNLOAD LINKS

In a few days I hope to release my next stadium build, and given I feel enough time has passed I now want to address the fact that the download links are no longer available.

Back in February it was brought to my attention that somebody had posted my University of Bolton Stadium build on TikTok and wasn't denying in the comments that the build was theirs, which I interpreted as them in effect taking credit. A similar incident occurred a week later, this time with Ashton Gate.

Now, this is nothing new, and content of mine has been as you say stolen multiple times before; it's also an issue faced by other builders. However, stuff like this is really annoying because of the amount of time and effort I put into these builds as you know, with each one taking months or even years to complete. The style in which I build is also very distinctive compared to other builders, making it a lot easier for me to be able to tell where my work has been claimed by others. As a result of these instances and people claiming my work as their own, I finally took the decision to remove my download links from all sources (YouTube and PMC), thereby preventing anybody from accessing my work.

It's not a decision that I wanted to make, but in this scenario I felt I had no other choice. Of course I'll continue to share my work through my videos and thus hopefully I can get the necessary credit through that medium, but I'm sorry to say that I will not be reinstating the download links for the time being. I will always be evaluating my options as to whether I will restore them or not, and if so what form that will take. Setting up a Patreon has been mooted as an idea but this would mean putting the links essentially behind a paywall.

I know many of you have been messaging me as well as leaving comments as to what happened to the links, and I appreciate that so many of you wanted to download my work, but the fact is it's a case whereby certain individuals have spoiled it for everybody else.

Going forward as I say, I will continue to upload my videos and will of course return to streaming over the summer months, but the downloads will not be returning for the foreseeable.

I hope you all understand and thank you all for the support.

Cheers,

Matthew

PORTMAN ROAD - LANDSCAPING COMPLETED (November 25, 2023)

Thanks to the discovery of some new material, new details including additional air conditioning units are added to the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand as well as the corner between this and the Cobbold Stand.

Following the final details being added including the remaining junctions on the surrounding roads around the stadium, Portman Road is finally declared complete at 1:50am and thus becomes the 16th stadium in the SkyBET EFL Championship 2018/19 Project. The overall project is now 2/3 complete with 8 builds remaining.

Work will start on the final video in the morning, with the aim to have it released sometime next week along with a download link.
