Hi everyone, nice to meet you! I’m Okta, the person behind this account. 🤍

I actually started YouTube about 9 years ago. Then I became a mom and took a break from creating content. I started creating again around 4 years ago, but I only really got back into YouTube consistently about 2 years ago and here we are.

Before I became a mom, I was quite an active girl who loved creating content. I loved filming, editing and documenting little pieces of my life.

I recently decided to make some of my old videos public again after keeping them private for years. I’m taking so much time to film and edit these days, so I thought… why not leave a little trace of who I was here too?

I’m definitely not that girl anymore and honestly, it’s kind of nice to see how much I’ve changed. Becoming a mom has made me much more laid-back and more appreciative of the simple things in life.

Hey there! For those of you who are new here, let me introduce myself.

I’m Okta, an Indonesian who’s been living in the Netherlands for almost 8 years. I’m married to a Dutch guy, and after 5 years of long-distance, we’ve now been together for almost 12 years and have two young boys.

I’m a Scorpio, and I really enjoy my time alone — I don’t talk much, I prefer to listen. I sometimes feel overwhelmed meeting so many people. I love deep conversations, a good warm drink (like cappuccino, matcha, or chai latte), Asian food, and anything spicy. I also really love the colors black and red, and I definitely prefer savory over sweet!

I create cooking videos, not because I’m an expert, but simply to share what I cook daily for my family. As an Indonesian living in the Netherlands, I try my best to bring a little piece of home into my kitchen and share that with you all.

You might notice that I’m always smiling in my videos. That’s because I’ve been trying to smile more — I don’t love my “serious” face, and I guess that’s why I haven’t made so many friends. But I like to think God gave me that “serious” look to protect my sensitive heart, and I’m grateful for it. So if you ever see me in real life and I look serious, that’s just my face 😁
