I'm brainstorming ideas for a core concept to use for an avatar to use in my thumbnails. So far the best idea I have is to paste my pfp onto the head of a guy in a suit. I can swap poses, swap suits, etc. It's not meant to be anything fancy, just something memorable for people who already know the channel, to be able to easily identify my videos when scrolling the home page. What do you think?

Which is better? Walnuts or cashews?

Channel update: There is something I need to have fully decided BEFORE I try growing the side channel.

And that thing is: quantity or quality?

Do I do a couple of videos a week with S-tier editing, where I spend hours trying to get the perfect run/match, designed to get maximum views? (quality - more appealing to casual viewers but doesn't make enough content for the superfans who want more)

Or do I do 7+ videos a week where I just make every run/match I do into a video, use lazy screenshots for thumbnails, do the bare minimum for editing, etc. (quantity - unappealing to casual viewers but makes plenty of content for the superfans)

From a creative perspective I don't like the mental pressure that comes with expectations for quality but I also tend to burnout when I go the quantity route.

So I need to do some more experimenting to find out which works right for me. I think the main thing I need to test is: if I go the quantity route, how many videos a week can I do sustainably long-term without burning out?

So that's what I'm going to do for now on the main channel: just do some personal limit testing to see where my burnout threshold is and then once I know where it is, make sure to always stay under that threshold. And once I do that, if I'm able to make enough videos to go the quantity route (and enough of you guys like it), then I can start doing it over on the variety side channel (unless the variety content on the main channel all of a sudden starts doing well by then, in which case swapping to the side channel for algorithm reasons wouldn't be necessary).

Which is better? Blueberries or raspberries?

Also, here's my plans on what I'm going to do on this channel (same plans as yesterday's post, just explaining the "how" a bit better).

The plan is just to record content for other channels first, and the videos I record that are good but don't fit the criteria for the other channels, those videos go here. That's it. Pretty simple.

So if you see a bunch of risk videos all of a sudden over here, it's because I was trying to get a risk video for the side channel and had a bunch that didn't make the cut (usually because the match was too short for it to be good second monitor content, or because it was a good match but the end wasn't satisfying, etc).

Same with variety games. If I try a game and it ends up being too strategic and slow-paced for the action roguelike channel, I'll put it over here (a lot of you guys like slow and strategic games). Or if I see a fun game I want to play that doesn't really fit on any of the other channels, I'll put it here. Etc.

That's it. Just letting you guys know what my plans are (for now, they change constantly - I have no idea what I'm doing).

So since I posted about my idea of having this channel specialize in pvp games, I've been looking for pvp games to play here on the main channel, and it turns out pvp games that catch my interest release very rarely. Maybe 1 or 2 a year.

For this to be a pvp-only channel I would have to play the same 1 or 2 pvp games over and over well beyond the point of being sick of them. So forget what I said before.

I don't know what I'm going to do here on the main channel. It might just be my "miscellaneous channel" where I put games that don't fit into the well-defined niches I'm going for on my other channels.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. I don't know why you insist on making the "reusable seal" on the top of my food never work. But I have a very particular set of skills. I will look for you, I will find you, and I will make you spend 15 minutes fumbling with a plastic bag trying to get it to reseal.

Wall World fans, do you guys want me to do a series on Dome Keeper?

I made a few videos on it a long time ago when it first released. There were a lot of aspects of the game I liked, but I had mixed feelings about having an entire run dedicated to one single mine. Then Wall Wall came along and blew me away, and it was hard to go back to Dome Keeper. But Dome Keeper has had a ton of updates since then, so maybe it'll be fun. Won't really know unless I try.

Would you watch a series on Dome Keeper?

The Wall World series is doing well, but I get the occasional comment saying something along the lines of "you need to talk less, yet say more."

I just want to do a poll to see if this is a small amount of people that I should ignore, or if it's a significant amount of viewers that feel this way.

Not sure what the fix would be if it's a lot of viewers. The only real fix would be just to be silent for half the video (which hurts retention), or edit the videos (which takes away from the chill vibe I'm going for on the series). This might just be a situation where no matter what I do people are going to complain.

And please, resist the urge to leave "just be yourself" comments and "stop overthinking" comments. I've heard them before but I do these polls for a reason - if I'm unknowingly doing something that alienates a significant amount of my viewers, I need to know about it. And the only way to know if it's a significant amount or an unavoidable tiny amount, is to do a poll.

How do you feel when I talk about the game for most of the video, but sometimes talk about other things during the video (chill stuff, no algo talk)?

How do you feel when I ONLY talk about the game and nothing else in videos?
