The blood of Jesus versus the blood of bulls and goats

Let us do a small comparison between what the blood of Jesus did as compared to the blood of bulls and goats under the law.

In the atonement made by the high-priest with the blood of bulls and goats, sins were covered. The sins did still exist, but they were covered such that God could act towards the nation of Israel as though those sins weren't committed even though they still were living in bondage to sin under its dominion. The blood of the animals gave them a standing before God.

However, the blood of Jesus didn't cover sins it purged the sins completely. It blotted them out.

Let me give two examples to buttress this point.

Take a person whose white shirt is stained and when an examiner comes by the individual covers the stain with a white sheet of paper such that the stain is not made visible and so the observer acts as though there was no stain even though the person wearing the stained shirt still carries the shame and feels dirty.

This is why God said that when I see the blood, I will passover. It didn't purge the sin but allowed God passover.

The second scenario is that the stain is purged out completely by some white bleaching product so the shirt now appears without any trace of the stain so the individual feels clean and can boldly show his shirt to the observer.

Second scenario is a person sells a company with heavy liabilities but gets some good accountants to hide the liabilities from the buyer so he buys only to see the company is heavily in debt while another first of all settles all liabilities and then buys the company debt free.

The blood of Jesus doesn't just give the sinner a standing before God. It makes a sinner the righteousness of God in Christ having purged the sins.

No matter how intelligent or educated a person is, once they are pessimistic, they would underperform according to their God-given talent. You must train your mind to recognise the opportunities even in a desert.

Jeremiah 17:6
"6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited."

The point is "he shall not see when good cometh" so he keeps inhabiting the parched places when he should have turned the parched place into streams of water through the opportunities God gave that went by unrecognised.

The salvation story is much deeper than material prosperity and healing.

The Book of Romans is a very powerful presentation, if not the most powerful, by Paul the Apostle on the subject of righteousness and the real essence of Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

It clearly speaks to Jesus not only as our substitute on the cross but also in our identification with him in his death, burial, and resurrection.

It is a journey in the revelation of the righteousness of God. It goes to the heart and essence of Christ's work.

If you read through, you will clearly see that the revelation carries a depth.
It tells us that by one man, Adam sin entered into the world. Sin in singular tense (not plural as sins), which is therefore not a reference to the acts referred to as sins but to a nature that inherently changed the Adamic race forever.

Jesus therefore came as the lamb of God to take away that sin which entered through Adam.

Romans 5:12
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

John 1:29
"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world"

Now the scripture says from Adam to Moses sin dominated as death ruled. This time frame referred to the period before the law where we find the patriachs. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, etc.

Romans 5:14
"Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come."

We must note that these men prospered, and God even healed the Israelites in the wilderness during this period, yet the sin question was left unaddressed, and death reigned.

This goes to show that the depth of Christ's work goes directly to the sin issue. Sin as a principle and power over man because it had become his nature within.

Material prosperity and healing are attachments to the core of what Christ came to do and when the physical prosperity of a person is spoken of as though it's the essence of the gospel it means the message of Jesus Christ in its basic form is not well understood.

Nobody is going to be rewarded in heaven by how material rich you were on the earth. The story of the rich man and Lazarus in Abrahams bossom makes that abundantly clear.

Luke 16:19-24
"19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame."

You will be rewarded for how much you were of help to others. Now, if you personally believe that to be in the best position to be of practical help to others you need material things to enable you do that it is a kind gesture and that is the root of God's desire to prosper a person.

Your desire, therefore, is not to love just in word and thought but in deed and in truth.

1 John 3:18
"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth"

God doesn't need our permission in order for him to move in certain ways.

We may argue and that correctly that our prayers are required for God to carry out his will on the earth after all that is the whole essence of prayer which is "thy will be done on the earth as it is in heaven" and if therefore prayer is required then God still needs our cooperation.

Matthew 6:9-10 (KJV)
"9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

That conclusion is scriptural however we shouldn't forget he placed his Spirit within you as our intercessor so that he could pray out his will on the earth through us without us even knowing the exact things we are praying for.

Romans 8:26-27 (KJV)
"26 Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God"

We pray out things that are much deeper than our minds can conceive except as revealed by the Spirit.

This, therefore, suggests we may have prayed out things by the Spirit that we will have to catch up with in our understanding.

Results may, therefore, appear in our lives and around us by the Spirit's intercession through us, which when we see we may not at first understand.

These things will be deeper than our present understanding of the scriptures, and if not taught, we may find ourselves attacking it using our limited understanding of the scriptures.

It is important therefore that when we see something around us occurrences that seems to have an invisible hand working in it giving supernatural results and we are unsure because our understanding has never conceived it, our first response should be to go to God in prayer to give us a scriptural understanding of what is happening.

Whether he shows us that it is a prophetic word being fulfilled or that this is not of him, whichever it is, we must go to God..cont'd in comment

Whether he shows us that it is a prophetic word being fulfilled or that this is not of him, whichever it is, we must go to God to ask when we see things move supernaturally that we don't understand.

It is imperative to understand that because you may not initially agree with a thing, it then must be wrong, is an assumption that can be very costly.
This is how the "old" has always missed the "new" God is doing. Not everything new is of God, but there are new things he does that the old will struggle with.

The irony is that you may find yourself fighting what the Spirit of God through groanings prayed out of you.

Pass the test, and don't let offence lead you to betrayal. Most betrayals stem out of hidden offences.

People get offended when they believe someone above them didn't act towards them in the way they expected.

Another reason could be that they felt slighted by what the person did or they perceived was done. Many of these things are imaginary.

Whisperers get hold of the ears of someone to cause a major fracture in a relationship ordained by God.

This bottled up resentment gets exploited by the enemy in presenting the person with an opportunity to betray the said person either in action or by in public speech.

The opportunity is a bait of satan. It will only lead to emptiness, and you will find out you shot yourself in the foot.
