Others can do it "cheaper"

I got so nervous when I heard this for the first time.
I was worried that I would lose the gig and the chance to earn any money.
So, I lowered my rates and then ended up working on the most mentally draining projects ever.

Most of the times this can be simply avoided with clear communication and proper boundaries.

Once boundaries are established at the start, the bad prospects will automatically get weeded out and the good ones will respect you more.
