Is grammar really the key to fluency?
In my experience, no. Vocabulary is what opens the door to real understanding. The more words you know, the more meaningful input you can access. And from there, grammar starts to make sense on its own.
In this post, I share why I prioritize building vocabulary over memorizing rules, and how this approach has helped me move forward in every language I’ve learned.

Why do so many English learners struggle, even after years of study?
I explore three key obstacles: perfectionism, constant self-comparison, and the fear of mistakes.
If you want to improve your English, change your mindset. Focus on input, enjoy the process, and let go of unrealistic expectations.

For me, fluency starts with comprehension. This is why daily goal in language learning isn't speaking—it's understanding more every day.
By seeking out words and structures in different contexts, I build a foundation that eventually leads to confident speaking. It’s not magic, it’s consistency.

Many language learners focus on speaking, but without words, there’s nothing to say. That’s why I consider reading to be such a powerful tool for fluency. It builds vocabulary, reinforces listening, and helps words stick.
Bonus tip: when you read and listen together, you give yourself more exposure to the language, making it easier to recall words when you speak.
I use listening while multitasking, but when I sit down to study, I read. What about you? Do you prefer listening or reading when learning a language?

Can You Forget a Language?
Languages don’t disappear, they just wait to be revived. I believe that with the right motivation, familiar content, and enough time spent listening and reading, you can pick up right where you left off. There is also no need to maintain every language daily, just let them rest and return when you’re ready.
Have you ever gone back to a language after a long break? What was your experience like?
