It handles difficult terrains effortlessly, packs plenty of power, provides a high level of comfort, and features industry-leading technology, yet it couldn’t care less about being in the limelight.


Combined with this elegant Grenadilla Black finish, this Touareg R-Line was the perfect companion for us for a little adventure through some “roads less travelled” in Malaysia. We drove it on some majestic roads, traversed some off-road conditions with it, raced it with a hot hatch, and most importantly explored the beauty of Malaysia. Storing my KE70 before burying my face into work got me thinking of this. I'm lucky enough to be living in a landed property where I can also hook up a battery charger to the car. If it makes enough business sense to do this, I'll find a place to set things up.

A sedan by Smart? That’s a first. And not just that, with the “New Smart” being all-electric, this one right here is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). These are official images of the car shared by the brand via Weibo.


Its powertrain consists of a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission). The combined power output is 320 kW (435 PS). The hybrid battery’s capacity has yet to be revealed, but we do know that the system has a range of 1,810 km (CLTC).


This sedan also has a wheelbase of 2,926 mm and an overall length of 4,906 mm, making it similarly-sized to a BYD Seal. More details to be revealed soon…
