Ceramic 3D Printing Experimentation & Research

Tom Lauerman

I've been super busy in my job, but will return to some video making shortly. I was asked to review a new clay printer, so that'll be the next topic once I open this up.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the last poll about ads & monetization. I went with these settings, which are fairly minimal I think, and I turned off monetization on any of the short videos (less than 1 minute). I don't imagine this will generate much, but whatever it does generate, even if it is fractions of pennies, will go toward the work & research presented in the videos. I'm obviously new to this, so if you think I made poor choices, I'm all ears. Thanks!

Ads & Monetization:

Lots of you keep subscribing and watching and I thank you. This has been the surprise of the year for me, as no one really visited this channel for maybe the first 5 years of its existence, and I was using it more or less as cloud storage rather than as a "channel".
Anyhow, as a result of this interest the channel is suddenly eligible to sign up for ads & monetization. I'm wondering how people feel about this. Personally when I watch YouTube I expect ads, and I just click through the ads, no big deal. However, I do get a little bit annoyed by paid sponsorships "inside" of video content and I am a bit suspicious of things that look like awkward product placement, etc. I'm also curious if there are lots of examples of "monetization eligible" channels which opt out of monetization entirely, and if so why? What do you all think?
(and my apologies if I'm using too many polls!)

What do you all prefer in videos . . .

So, when I look at some YouTube channels that I admire they often have a number of professional touches like intro graphics, end cards, links, logos, titles on the thumbnail image, etc. Thing is, I'm not really a fan of these things. I'm more inclined to just have videos, none of that fanfare. Is this foolish? Am I missing something? how do others feel about these slick accoutrements?

Hello, a lot of new subscribers here in the last month or two, welcome! The focus of this channel will remain the development of 3D printing clay, but I'm curious what types of videos people are most interested in seeing more of. If you have a moment, I'd love to hear your opinion!
