I realize that sarcasm satire and hyperbole aren’t great on the internet, so forgive the self indulgence of my last post, apparently the cap must be stated. Saturday’s video “Keep Politics Out Of Anime,” is going to be a rip and tear straight to the heart of melty brain morons who fundamentally misunderstand the core aspects of counter cultural art. It is a rude and satirical video.

New Video Out Now! <ALSO!> I wanted to address some things I’ve been seeing in the comments.

"Why are your videos not doing well?"

It’s a little complicated. We were hit multiple times this year for copyright, almost lost the channel. This happened on very old and some new videos.
It happens and it’s the risk of staying independent in the anime sphere.
In addition, anime YouTube has been inundated with recap channels and AI slop. They post multi hour videos multiple times a week simply recapping anime. They grow fast and get a lot of views. It is what it is.
The global political atmosphere is a mess and news content is dominating YouTube right now. People aren’t as interested in creative analysis when there’s real life catastrophes going on.
Lastly, we haven’t had the time and space to make a long form video yet this year. We have a couple multi hour long videos that need to be put together, but we have major time constraints due to sponsorship obligations. It’s a double edge sword. Without the sponsors this year we’d be sunk, but views are also down because we’ve had to make more, but shorter videos.
Anime is also in a lull. Most of the series that brought in a fresh audience around 2019 are ending or already over. Casual younger fans have “aged out” and there isn’t anything major on the horizon to bring in fresh new eyes. This is part of a bigger problem I’d like to do a video on, maybe next week.

But yeah. Basically, don’t worry about it. We have our Patreon to keep us above water until things change. Things will swing back around, they always do, this is the nature of the machine. We aren’t going to throw in the towel just cause things are tough. If you’re reading this, you’re a real head, it’s people like you who keep us going, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
