If you are new to my channel, hello! I'm currently working on my first huge long-form video 🫣 (more below)

I started this page by posting solely travel content, but I've shifted to delving into the histories of the places I visit in addition to my experiences. One of the shorts I made last year was a cross-country road trip vlog, but to spice it up I also briefly chatted about the first woman to drive across the country in 1909, Alice Ramsey.

I thought her story was so interesting and I've seen very little about her online, so I decided to read her memoir and detail her entire journey in a sort of a video essay format.

If all goes well, I have many other long-form ideas! I want to dig into historical tourist attractions, people who have made incredible journeys, and maybe even share commentary and research on current tourism trends. All travel-related, but different from your standard "5 things to do in [insert city]" videos.

Hoping to have this up by Wednesday! Stay tuned 🤗

p.s. you can watch the vlog I mentioned here: youtube.com/shorts/AmPsSm9IJ7...

I definitely don't have the opportunity to travel as much as full-time travel creators, but I still feel very lucky to have visited as many places as I did this year ✨ I have very few plans lined up for next year, but I'd love to explore more US cities and national parks and delve into the history of tourism to specific areas.

Thanks to all who have followed this year! Stay tuned for more history-based travel videos. Happy New Year, and happy travelling 😊

Woke up to a notification that I hit 5,000 subscribers, and on my birthday no less!! 🥳 I know in the grand scheme of YouTube and social media 5k isn't a lot, but to me it's incredibly significant. I've been posting (rather inconsistently) for over 3 years now so it's taken me a hot second to get here, so this is an achievement!

Thank you everyone for being here. I hope I've positively impacted your travels/travel plans or have helped you learn something about the world! ❤️✈️

(p.s. I'm in Toronto right now! Heading to Niagara Falls for the first time to celebrate my birthday 🤗)

Fushimi Inari was one of my favorite places I had the chance to visit during my 10 short days in Japan. Here are some things to know ⛩️👇🏻

✨ Fushimi Inari has about 10,000 torii gates

✨ The majority of people just go through the first section known as the Senbon Torii—or Thousand Torii Gates—and then turn around. Past this point the crowds start to thin out, but it didn't get quieter for us until after the last bathroom stop about 1/3 up the hike.

✨ If you've been following me recently, you've heard me talk about the crowd situation at Fushimi Inari a lot. Some say going early in the morning/late at night is worth it just for the peace and quiet the entire time, which I get. Honestly, we didn't want to get up super early since we were midway thru our trip and needed more rest haha, and we didn't regret getting a later start despite the crowds at the beginning. Though, if you don't want to hike very far, then definitely go in the early morning/night.

✨ Fushimi Inari is free to enter! Of course, have a few hundred yen on hand for goshuin or omamori, and/or a couple coins to pray at the shrines.

More on the shrine in my recent short! 👇🏻

Have you been here?
