🧘♀️ THE 8 LIMBS OF YOGA🌟 Sage Patanjali’s Path to Inner Peace, Health and Eternal Bliss💛
Hey Dear Yoga Family! Ever wondered yoga is more than just poses? Let’s break down the complete path! ✨
1️⃣ YAMAS - *Your Moral Compass* 🌍 Ethical principles for how you treat others & the world. 💡 Example: Practicing non-violence (Ahimsa) - being kind in words, thoughts & actions, even in traffic!
2️⃣ NIYAMAS - *Self-Discipline* 🧘♀️ Personal observances for inner growth. Example: Contentment (Santosha) - being grateful for what you have right now, not chasing “more.”
3️⃣ ASANA - *Physical Posture Practice * 🤸♀️ The yoga poses you practice on the mat. 💡 Example: Holding Downward Dog posture with stability & comfort, building strength & flexibility.
4️⃣ PRANAYAMA - *Breath Control* 🌬️ Mastering your life force through breathing. 💡 Example: Deep belly breathing before a stressful meeting to calm your nervous system.
5️⃣ PRATYAHARA - *Sensory Withdrawal* 👀 Turning inward, away from external distractions. 💡 Example: Doing a digital detox - no phone for 1 hour, just you & your thoughts.
6️⃣ DHARANA - *Concentration, Focus* 🎯 One-pointed focus of the mind. 💡 Example: Focusing only on your breath for 5 minutes, bringing your mind back each time it wanders.
7️⃣ DHYANA - *Meditation*🧘 Uninterrupted flow of awareness. 💡 Example: Sitting in meditation where thoughts flow without attachment - pure observation mode.
8️⃣ SAMADHI - *Eternal Bliss, Union with the Divine*✨ The ultimate state - oneness with the divine. 💡 Example: That moment when you lose yourself completely in practice - pure joy & peace beyond words.
This example isn’t samadhi as a whole but an instance that reflects an experience that is relatable to the eternal bliss. The state of Samadhi is also associated with death of ego, a state where one rises above senses, karmic cycle of birth and death.
🌈 **Remember: Yoga is a holistic journey - not just about touching your toes, but touching your SOUL! 💫
Self-discipline🧘🏽♀️✨ One among the Core Fundamentals of Yoga💚
Self-discipline is that one thing that separates regular yoga practitioner from those who are not able to habituate or regularize their yoga practice.
Self-discipline is one of the most essential things in life, irrespective of any field. And maintaining this factor in life has been a very continuous process yet time and again challenging for me personally.
It has been about how I train myself, train my mind to continue my works, my passion with consistency without missing, without quitting. It has really kept me going on this Yogic journey. 🌻💚
