Jonah’s story is more than a tale of a prophet and a big fish. It’s a mirror of our own hearts when we resist God’s call.

Jonah tried to run from God, but discovered that God’s reach is everywhere—even in the depths of the sea. When Jonah finally prayed from the belly of the fish, God answered and gave him a second chance. That same mercy was shown to the people of Nineveh when they repented, proving that God’s love is greater than our prejudices, anger, or disobedience.

Many times, we may be like Jonah hesitant to obey, quick to judge, or slow to forgive. But the lesson is clear: God’s mercy is for all who turn to Him. He not only saves us, but also calls us to be messengers of His compassion to others.

❤️‍🔥Reflection:
• Am I running from something God has asked me to do?
• Do I struggle to forgive or show mercy to people I think don’t “deserve” it?
• How can I, like Jonah, learn to obey and trust God’s mercy today?

❤️‍🔥Takeaway:
You can’t outrun God’s call, and you can’t out-sin His mercy. When you repent, He restores—and when others repent, He rejoices.

QUESTIONS OF CHRIST DENIERS ABOUT THE DIVINITY OF JESUS.

THEY WILL ASK THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS: -

(1) Why does Jesus talk about himself going to his Father and his God? If he is God?

[John 20:17]

Answer:

Our God is one in three persons. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. And these are not three gods but one [1 John 5:8-9]. These three persons are one God.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 32:27: -

"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh......".

And for that reason, Jesus called the Father his God when he was in the form of a man because he had taken on flesh on earth.

Jesus has two natures, divinity, and humanity, together.

Jesus, as God, has no God over him. But in his second nature of humanity, the Father becomes his God.

(2) Why does he pray to the Father as his God? If he himself is God?

[John 17:1; Matthew 27:46]

Answer:

He prayed to the Father as his God when he was in the form of a man who had taken on flesh on earth. That's it. So when he was in trouble, he learned to rely on God in prayer to set an example for us to follow in his footsteps. [Read Hebrews 5:7]

(3) He said they should know you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent (John 17:3). If he is God, why differentiate himself from God and claim to be sent?

Answer:

The Bible says by nature, God is not a man [Hosea 11:9].

And for that reason, Jesus in that verse differentiated himself from God because he stood in the nature of his humanity when he was a man. The Bible says when he was a man, he did not consider equality with God something to be used to his advantage [Philippians 2:6, 8].

Jesus, as a man, is our greatest apostle and prophet, our great high priest, the Son of God [Hebrews 3:1].

But Jesus in Spirit is God just as much as he is the Father. They are no different [John 10:30-33; John 14:7-9]

(4) Why did he say the Father is greater than he is? If he himself is God?

[John 14:28]

Answer:

The Bible says in Job 33:12: - "....For God is greater than man".

Man cannot be above God.

And for that reason, when Jesus said the Father is greater than him. He said so with humility when he was a man who had taken on flesh here on earth [Philippians 2:6-8].

But Jesus in Spirit is God just as much as the Father is. They are both equal [John 5:19-.23; John 14:7-9]. All three persons of God are equal even though they work humbly. For example, Jesus glorifies the Father, and the Father glorifies Jesus. They both glorify each other [John 13:31-32; John 17:1, 4-5]. Jesus calls the Father greater than himself. And the Father calls Jesus his shepherd and fellow man [Zechariah 13:7]. These are the three persons of God working humbly, although they all have equal authority and equal power.

These names Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are just names aimed at distinguishing these persons according to their work. And it is not that one person is greater than another.

(5) When Jesus was on the cross, he said, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabaktani? That is, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? [Matthew 27:45-46]. So if Jesus is God, why would he say his God if he himself is God?

Answer:

Yes. Jesus said so when he was a man who had taken on flesh.

Jesus is all in all, he is fully God and fully man.
It is important to be able to distinguish the role of the divinity of Jesus from the humanity of Jesus. They are two different things although they are within one person.

Titus 2:13-14: - "While we look forward to that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good".

👇Yes, the Bible states that Jesus gives life to those who believe in him, offering them eternal life. This promise is found in verses like John 3:16 and John 10:28, which teach that believing in Jesus prevents one from perishing and grants everlasting life. The belief required is not just intellectual but also involves personal trust and reliance on him. 

Belief in Jesus leads to eternal life: According to John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life".

Jesus as the source of life: Jesus declared, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die". He also said, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish".

The nature of the life offered: This life is often described as eternal life, which starts now and continues into the future, assuring believers they will not perish.

The role of faith: The life Jesus offers is for those who have faith in him, which involves a personal commitment of trust and reliance.

The promise of eternal security: Believers can have confidence in their salvation because Jesus promises that they "shall never perish" and will not be snatched from him or his Father.
